First of all, i hate you.
Second of all, the wife and i went to Thailand for Honeymoon last year March. Epic beyong epic is the word.
We stayed at Club Med in Phuket (all-inclusive, eat & drink all you want all the time - remember, its honeymoon) for 2 weeks. This was great cos from Phuket you can hit Phi Phi, Patong (night clubs & bars & ping pong shows yeah baby), dive sites, all the temples, palaces, buddha's etc you can stomach, epic shopping, spectacular food etc etc.
We then spent a week on Koh Samui (45min flight) at a resort on Chaweng Road - cant remember the name. Koh Samui is epic, a lot prettier, a little quieter unless you are on Chawen Road, which has EPIC shopping, LOTS of restaurants and a pretty awesome Night club called the Green Mango (holds about 2500 people + if i remember). This has less touristy stuff, we went deep sea fishing here, was fun but not like Mauritius or Durban.
The food is cheaper, everything is cheaper, just negotiate the shizzle out of everyone - if they ask for 100, offer them 30, its basically 100% - 150% markup. The oldest trick is to pick out everything you want, then negotiate, dont ask item per item, get a bulk price, knock 50 - 70% off and pay. IF they dont take the offer, walk out, and they will call you back, works every time.
Make sure you do as many outings as you can, and i recommend Club Med if you are under 35, or an outgoing under 45..they are amazing, and i would go back in a heartbeat.
Ps - I hate you.
Pps - Phone Club Med in Design Quarter for a price, get a brochure, look at the website - you wont regret it.
Enjoy the honeymoon!
