HI guys,

I am planning a holiday trip for the family (Myself, Wife and son). I am considering Thailand but I want to find out if a visa is required for South African citizens? I have been on a couple of websites and some mention no you don't need as long as it is under 30 days but then some sites say yes it is required.

Since some of you guys have visited Thailand before I thought you would be the best guys to ask on short notice :D

currently in Koh Samui, we will be in Thailand for 3 weeks, NO visa required.

IT SEEMS THAT THE CONSENSUS IS THAT YOU DO NOT NEED A VISA BEFORE YOU LEAVE

Take note that there is a booth at the arrivals in Thailand where you get a Visa-on-arrival. Don't bother with this, just take your Passport to the immigration queue (follow everyone else) and they'll stamp your passport & sign it as valid for 30 days.

I did this for both Thailand and Singapore in April on my RSA passport. No mess, no fuss.

No inoculations needed and they stamp you for 30 days at immigration in Thailand. You need no prep, unless you're planning an onward journey, but most of Asia don't require Visas...

Do you know if Dubai wants any inoculations if it's just a transit stop? (JHB-Dubai-Bangkok)
