Must say that I've never really understood these orthodox creationist. While I have my faith (and reasons for it) I'm also not blind.

I worked with someone who was so into the orthodox creationist thing that he believed that dinosaurs walked the earth 500 years ago. This guy was not idiot, he was just blinded by his believes (he goes to the Shofar sect in Stellies). Must say, after this guy I shy away from these orthodox creationist.

Actually did astronomy 101 this year just find out more about how are wonderful universe is constantly evolving.

So  For me, it's way more difficult to believe and accept the theories of evolution than the creation story.

who cares what she believes, Evolution is an interesting theory, but it is not fact, and until they can reproduce all the various facets in a lab, it will remain just that- a theory... the difference between creationists and evolutionists is that creationists admit their theories are by faith, evolutionists don't. its just like psychology- the general deception is that psychology is scientific and so when these people come up with theories about the psychological damage spanking causes children for instance you get people listening to them and challenging the constitution taking it in good faith that the "professionals" know what they are talking about. I know published psychologist who readily admit that psychology is mostly BS and offers little hope to individuals outside of a good support structure.
what else can I bitch about- malema- I guess he blows the anti-evolutionist theory out of the water.... mondays then- mondays are the governments ways of screwing us over damn it all I'm going to bed!!!

ffs I wish people could educate themselves before posting anything related to evolution!

evolution is an accepted fact!

You're kidding right?....please tell me you're kidding!!?! OMG, get an education (even Wikipedia browsing will do) before making comments that show your asinine views. Some opinions are just so idiotic they don't require a retort.

people can make any statement they like, even with vehemence and exclamation marks, that doesn't make it so- the definition of fact is "a truth known by actual experience or observation." very little about the beginning of the world has been observed or experienced- there are still too many unanswered questions to make it anything more than the best solution the scientific community has at the time. It offers absolutely no explanation for the initial condition that set everything into motion, apart from an unscientific cocktail of theories that are at best- "out there"- a question that comes to mind is where did all that initial energy come from in the first place?

No one's shouting it from the hills or preaching it. A number of professions come together to explain the origin of the species. If you actually delve deeper into evolution you will realize that life on earth is more miraclulous than you can ever imagine.

It's a work in progress just like everything else. For you to say they don't have final answer therefore they know nothing about this particular topic doesn't quite gell.

Would she have had any influence. Um no. As opposed to the other candidate's advisers with their crackpot conspiracy theories and loony beliefs....

Rev Wright

The bulk of his remarks addressed, however, different groups seeing each other as deficient. He acted out the differences between marching bands at predominantly black and predominantly white colleges. “Africans have a different meter, and Africans have a different tonality,” he said. Europeans have seven tones, Africans have five. White people clap differently than black people. “Africans and African-Americans are right-brained, subject-oriented in their learning style,” he said. “They have a different way of learning.” And so on.

I wonder if he believes in evolution.....

Eco Czar Van Jones

Mr. Jones, was revealed to have called himself a “communist” in 2005, referred to Republicans as “*******s” just 6 months ago in a speech, signed a 9/11 petition essentially blaming the Bush Administration for the terror attacks, blamed “white people” for pollution and polluting minority communities, called former President Bush a “crackhead,” and stated that only “white kids” shoot up schools, not black children.

Science Czar John Holdren

co-authored a 1977 textbook that advocated "compulsory sterilizations," mandated abortions, and stated that "To provide a high quality of life for all, there must be fewer people."

As a Christian I believe God created everything, be it by Evolution using the Big Bang or some other random events, who cares...IMO God did it. Agree don't agree, it doesn't phase me.

But evolution is clear in certain simple facets. Look at animals evolving to survive in certain situations. Look at humans evolving by losing more hair than normal, losing teeth which isn't needed anymore, pancreas etc. etc.

However Evolution at it's core, as in fish -> lizard -> ape -> man is still in all honesty just speculation. It might seem like fact to us now, just like people believed the earth was the center of the universe 2500 years ago, and how the earth was flat 400 years ago...for all we know 200 years from now people laugh at us for believing in Evolution.

But it is a "moo" point arguing about stuff like this anyway, everyone has their own ideas and believes.

exactly! its a work in progress-not a forgone conclusion... that is the only point I am trying to make

Nice to see, unlike narrow-minded Pallin.

Ehem, at that time it was the Catholic Church that was perpetuating (by force or death) those myths, people believed it for fear of death. They've redeemed themselves since that era through Georges Lemaître

by the way I'm Catholic.

True it was forced down. But I'm merely using it as an example, bad as it may be.

Just saying in the future who knows what we will find out. For all we know we are completely and utterly wrong and these Crazy Conspiracy Theorists about the Mayan Aliens are true and we are all doomed in 2012 :P

Things evolve. Fact.

The entire gargantuan TOE in every single detail is a theory because we haven't got all the missing pieces.

However to put TOE into the same catagory as creatinism, I.E purely theoretical and mere speculation is absurd. The scientific community (Most members - I would guess > 98-99%) regards TOE as fact by the way. You don't have to...but then admit to yourself that you are disregarding something regarded as fact by science in favour of your own personal beliefs.

Also evolution also deals only with how we got from the so called primordial soup to today. It does not encompass The Big Bang Theory or any other "How the universe started" theory.

Single Cells ----- > Today

Thats it.
