The conclusion of all the heated debates here on my broadband.
Sorry if I got personal on some of them.
I just hope that the future is better for us the paying customer.

What I had to do to sort out our NEOTEL Problem (well I hope it will be sorted)

Dear Sir/Madam

Hereby notice of cancellation of service with NEOTEL.

We received our device and it was not a wifi device. We contacted the call centre about this and they said that they will look into and get back. Still waiting. This complaint was done within 48 hours of getting the device.

We further complaint on my broadband and got this email from Neotel. This is a message from Neotel at Broadband & ADSL Forums - Internet, Gaming, Hardware, Software ( http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/index.php ). Hi Efons

I apologise for the treatment you have received so far and I can assure you that is not how we treat our customers at Neotel and I would sincerely like to help resolve you query.

Kindly contact me on my mobile on 082 576 1284 my name is Zinhle and I would like to understand what has happened and ensure that it gets the attention it deserves

Regards

I called and was assured that all would be sorted including the WiFi by the end of Sept and nothing as yet.

Then came the big blow with overcharging on data. Once we got our account in October for September.

Lots and Lots of Calls were made to resolve this and Mr Prejesh Maikoo promised that all would be resolved by the end of November. (this is for the overcharging as well as the WiFi modem) if it was not resolved we could return the modem for a full refund.

Well nothing has been done and we still waiting for an account for November etc etc etc. To add to the insult Mr Maikoo who made the promises does not take our calls.

To conclude our business with Neotel we would like to cancel our service with neotel.

Please advise where we can drop the unit off (as promised by Mr Maikoo) as well as a full refund on all overcharged data once again as promised by Mr. Maikoo.

Please also email a confirmation that you have received our fax for our records.

This cancellation is made with great sadness as we were hoping for a new company to be able to offer a service that we got what we paid for.

Well, in all fearness to Neotel, it was said from day one that they don't have a Wifi device, so you can't blame them for you signing up knowing that they don't have the device you are after.

No where you mention that you phoned their call centre, so you never actually complained did you?

With regards to your concern around Mr Maikoo, did you get anything that he promised in writing? If not, you don't have a foot to stand on. If you phoned the call centre, then the call should have been logged and they should be able to give you a reference number to be able to get refer people to you call. You are just as much to blame as Neotel.

I'm really getting worried about Neotel.... the more users are signing on the more complaint Im hearing about... 10 fold! Neotel better sort something out, before they become another iBust!

I was Not told that the unit was Not wifi when I applied for the service. I explained my problem with the lady that I had with telkom (lines down again)and that my home office we have 5 computer etc and we depend on the internet to do our business as we have a online business etc etc. She replied by saying that we had 100% coverage and would have our modem within 48hours and no cables.... No mention of no wifi. even though I told her 5 computers. Maybe I should have asked but who would release broadband that can only connect to 1 Computer in the year 2008.... yeah I know NEOTEL.

No where you mention that you phoned their call centre, so you never actually complained did you? Well if you can say about 20 calls and like 4 hours spent.. Yes we called and called and called...

Neotel does not give anything in writing or request anything in writing.. (we never signed for anything or contract)... But if the have the recordings as they say they do then we have more than a leg to stand on... just not sure if I want to listen to 4 hours of recordings.

The problem with neotel is the same reply.. which is "we will esculate the problem and get back to you...." and nothing.. hey they even said this today when we canceled.

The signal was great.. (a bit slow at times and the odd no service for a few hours) only problem was the overcharging of data and the wifi.. we really need it... and of course the promise that was never kept.
