They've excluded ImageReady from the Photoshop CS3 package. I've been using CS3 for about 4 months now with no real need for the web graphic editor side but now that I need it, I find its been taken out. The website suggest I buy Fireworks CS3. THANKS, after spending almost R6k on one package, I now need to spend another 2 on something that used to come for free.

Cant say I ever fired up ImageReady when I had it so for me it's absence has gone unnoticed till now. What feature the IR had is missing from Photoshop? Image map?

EDIT - in the short term why not download the Fireworks trial?

A fairly decent GIF editor for starters. Other functionality is in it's ability to do roll-over effects for websites. I can do the same thing in Dreamweaver but having it all on a design pedestal rather than a coding one makes putting together corporate CDs etc a walk in the park.

Maybe GIMP would help. Not quite the easiest application to work with but it is powerful enough.

Yeah, got the Fireworks trial on the download. Then I just need to go cap in hand to the purchasing department and ask them to put it through :D
