Thanks iBurst!

Yes extra purchased bandwidth as well as the so called "free" 1GB some of us get when we hit the "cap of death" is carried over to the next month if you do not use it all, but your normal package that you subscribed to does not get carried over even if you do not use any of it during the month.

Well, I also had the uncapped issue for about a week. Was a good reason to get a premium account from Rapidshare and go crazy ;). Ended up doing a total of something like 19GB last month, and that is with hardly any DC++. Not too bad a christmas present if you ask me ;)

Those of you who got an uncapped service for a few days/weeks, did they take any bandwidth from your accounts for January?

Sounds good. Mine only lasted for one night. After a modem reboot (WHY THE HELL DID I DO THAT ), I got throttled. :(

Strange. I restarted my pc after power outage and my speeds were going at 90KB/s

Yep....
Not so long ago I went and visit my aunt in UK. 10mbps cable. Amazing...thats all I can say

The same goes for the United States. $30pm for uncapped 8mb/s DSL.

If only SA would catch up to Intl standards.

Quite right, it would never happen here, and even on the off chance that the "camels come skating home" none of us would be able to afford it in this backward country.

At least not with Telkom around. Can you imagine what a gig of BW would cost you? R800? Maybe R1000? :(

If I recall correctly, a gig of bandwidth from Telkom costs about R55.

Even if that's true, they still charge you 10 times more than that. Now, what do you think the price will be with a 8mb/s line? ;)

I do over 30 each month with the help of our trusty DC++ Hub but alas....it's been quiet lately :/
