Hi

I just want to say thanks for a change to Telkom, usually its a rant about poor service but today I can say the opposite (and hope I don't jinx myself).

Over the past month I have been having serious latency and disconnection issues, and after the line upgrades it went totally pear shaped. After logging the 3rd fault with Telkom, the escalation and getting past the call centre which was the biggest hurdle in the process I get a techie coming to my house. He gave me a call at the premises as I was not there listened to my long tail of woe and proceeded on his merry way to switch me from the exchange I was on onto a different "newer" one. 40 mins later my line was up the snr was stable at 7 and line noise dropped down a bit to 50. I am about 3.5 - 4km from the exchange and its a very old area so the copper is also not that great. since last night I am happy to report that my line is synching at 4096 and speedtests on download are at 3.5M, pings are between 20-30ms. This was done at different times ranging from 14:00 yesterday till this morning 06:00

Thanks mark from Telkom you made my family happy as they can now get back to streaming and leave me the heck alone whilst I attend to things like my RC planes and fish tank.
 
This is great. I always enjoy reading positive comments. I'm getting a 4Meg line myself in Jan. I hope it all goes smooth
 
It's nice that they are given their due when they do well. I myself had similar problems,however TelkomZA on this forum came to my aid and sorted it. I'm giving serious consideration to reverting to Telkom as my ISP of choice. Let's hope they keep up the good work once I jump ship.
 
Have to agree - Telkom are really upping their game.

I have had only good experiences with them in the past. Even their representative on this forum went the extra mile to help me with my issues I had.

Same here, I sent TelkomZA a PM, and he logged a fault on my behalf after testing my line.
 
I must also say, the techie that installed my telkom line at my new place did an awesome job! Now if only i could fix my exchange congestion :(
