Thanks Vodacom... NOT!!!! New Tarriffs 1 May

Vodacom Sent me this letter today

This is more than likely due to the recent cuts in interconnect charges

Looks like I get 20 more weekend minutes.

I would have prefered a 5 or 10 anytime minutes since it is a anytime package not a weekender but thats just me.

Please remind me what the interconnect price cut was because the out of bundle reduction is only 11 cents for me for calls to Telkom and 71 cents on other networks.
There is also an increase of 64 cents off peak calls to Telkom and an increase of 40 cents to other network

So this interconnct charge reduction is benifiting me how???????

What a &*^$ing Joke Vodacom if I didn't just renew my contract with you I would have ported my number

I also recieved a letter like this for my Talk 500. The amounts are a bit different, but the whole msg the same otherwise. Strange thing is that I cannot find any announcements on the Vodacom website about this... my CRC at Vodacom also has no info about it and would be interesting to know how they have allocated these minutes.

I think 00:00 Saturday actually means that you get the whole Saturday and the whole Sunday. :D

Yeah edited the post and removed the weekend comment

I just called the Vodacom helpdesk and they have no idea what I was talking about

The thing that eggs me is the interconnect charges reduction should reduce costs not rearrange them and keep everything the same just make money somewhere else. The out of bundle charges is a huge rip now there is no off peak discount anymore and there is a significant increase the the charges off peak.

There isn't really any increase in any time talk minutes either which is why you have the contract in the first place you didn't get a weekender

So does that mean that Vodacom will now have an "all day" out of bundle rate, like MTN? I was thinking of switching over to a Talk 75 contract specifically because of the off-peak rates. MTN has an option of an Off-peak 200 contract, but the rates are ridiculous. I don't know what to do anymore, looks like they're all just scr**ing us!
