A friend had the trial telkom ADSL line and bandwidth for a few months. It worked fine, he self-installed the router. It then expired and he asked telkom to re-connect him, but didnt want their bandwidth.
"Jason" from Telkom then called my friend and said the technitian is coming out and it will be a R700 installation fee.
My friend said to him that he would self install so "jason" said : "No you cant self install because its fibre optic in the area".
What have Telkom come to , lying to people like that, I wonder how many people have been suckered into paying the R700 "installation" when all the technitian does is flick a switch somewhere in the exchange.
Do you think "Jason" is sales incentivised and gets a percentage of the "installations" he sells by whatever means he likes? Or is the "fibre optic" line a new one in Telkoms call center training manual?
