The 2014 Moto X

Also very keen.... Any projections on what orange would sell it for? Don't really follow their pricing much

The 2013 edition of the Moto X sells for [-]R4,730[/-] R4,020 for the 16Gb model. Hopefully this costs somewhere between the HTC One M8 and the Nexus 5.

It looks even better from the side.

The cost of this device is $500, more than the original X. I don't see it costing under R6000 here. I also really like the look of it. I'd swap my G2 for it anyway.

The new Moto X looks awesome. It's a crying shame that it has a rubbish battery. Since getting my OnePlus One with a 3100mAh battery, I'm never buying a phone with a substandard battery again. The OPO has insane battery life - two to three days light usage and almost impossible to kill in one day with heavy usage.

Can you post some screenshots of your OnePlus One's battery life? How many hours of screen on time do you get over how long a period? Do you think it fares significantly better than a GS4 with a 2600mAh battery, for instance?

In the case of the new Moto X, I would hazard a guess that battery life will be fine for lasting a single day at a time. That has become the accepted minimum requirement for smartphones, I guess.

Ordered mine last night - white front with gold accenting and a bamboo back :)

Ordered from?

Was this ordered via Moto Maker? How will you be shipping it to SA?

Yip, ordered from Moto Maker in the States... I have a bank account in the US (long story) so used that card to place the order and am having it shipped to a friend who will be flying over here the first week of next month :)

The LTE on the US model won't work here but it works out like about R2k less than the UK model who's LTE will work here. Can't justify an additional R2k just for LTE - no LTE for MTN in Limpopo anyways ;)

Very nice... I'll be awaiting a review once it lands :D

Actually gonna be my first Android phone :wtf: Been using iPhones since the iPhone 3G launched so a bit of a change for me - I have a soft spot for Moto though (another long story) and really want a pure android experience so the X (well, now the new X) is the ideal choice ;)

Reviews of the phone are very positive. Only negatives I've seen are a substandard (not particularly bad, just not great) camera and Anand's analysis of the screen didn't mark it very highly on a number of fronts. Otherwise, looks like quite a comeback for Motorola. Perhaps Google should have held onto them a bit longer.

MKBHD is awesome!! Love this guys reviews :D

Got a mail last night saying my phone is now being assembled - I wonder how long before it ships...
