Sometimes it really seems like everything is broken. At this year's Cape Town Anarchist Bookfair, let's try figure out what to do about it.

Join us in Observatory on Saturday the 6th of December for a day of books, workshops, food, games, art, music and, most importantly, a host of facilitated open discussions on topics collectively chosen by the participants, with a focus on practical outcomes.

The focus for this, our fourth annual bookfair (can you believe how time flies?) is on making it happen, together! If you'd like to volunteer or get involved in any way, drop us a line.

I'm only an anarchist when it comes to showing the flaws and fundamental and utter, major and inherent weaknesses and inefficacy of the ANC government.

Did I say undeniable?

On election days my button badge says "No matter who you vote for the government gets in".

Governments are the greatest violators and oppressors in history. And because every new generation gets scripted to love Caesar, the tyranny continues per omnia saecula saeculorum.

I had to brush up on my Latin skills ... but unfortunately the concept of "dire consequences" remains, no matter how many times you translate it.

On MyBB (inter alia), see ten years of rants against Caesar.

As you then know, Anarchism has many isotopes. I'm not a collectivist of any stripe, leaving voluntary socialism / communism to the hippies. But I'd like to see a 98% reduction in the powers and role of Caesar.

Ok enlighten me. Without government who maintains infrastructure? Who prevents your neighbour from killing you and taking what is yours? The truth is that humans are incapable of policing themselves. Africa is filled with examples of how society and nations devolve into chaotic bloodshed in the absence of effective governments.

Eskom is a perfect description of anarchy.

I am also a believer in good government and law and order but am seeing it go down the tube.

I used to have an original copy of the "Anarchist Cookbook" which, if I still had it, would probably have some value now.
I heard a few years ago that the CIA had influenced the printers into making changes to some of the more dangerous recipes/procedures so that the operator was likely to injure or kill himself.
