The Audi Thread

Yeah webuycars is dodgy AF, they wanted to sell me a car with a known steering rack issue and they would only fix it if I financed through them.
There was a Mahindra XUV300 NXT something something, the sales guy moved the car for a test drive and all the oil was on the ground, asked him whats up with this, he checks the tablet and says theres an oil leak, that was not an oil leak it was a complete oil drain and the car is standing there idling in my mind I am waiting for the engine to seize up

Sounds about right, LOL

Got around to opening up the RNS-E tonight and I think I’ve found the issue:

This CD was forced into the slot and jammed above the Nav DVD in the empty space above the drive. I managed to extract it and the Nav DVD as well which has seen better days. Anyone know where to find one of these except for heading to the dealer?

RNS-E update is busy going at the minute:

Maybe it will still work as the scratches are perpendicular to the data grooves?

It's amazing how quickly the costs can skyrocket on those cars. That being said, an RS4 Avant would be quite a nice weekend car.

I took mine for a CVT fluid refresh yesterday, but I still need to do the adaptations on it with VCDS because I don't think the shop I took it to would have done it. The drive is much smoother, and it feels a bit more responsive, but there is still a bit of a jerk when pulling away from a standstill. Apparently the adaptation helps with this as it recalibrates the clutchpack.

Have you tried the holding the accelerator down method?

Great success* (apologies for the poor pic). EDIT: added screenshot that I forgot that I took

*There is, of course, a caveat. I have a transmission fluid leak near the cooler and my fuel pump packed up while I was on my way home. The car cut out and wouldn't restart. I could get the fuel pump to prime again using VCDS and limped home. I'll deal with it this weekend. This car just doesn't want to be on the road it seems.

Anything for B8.5 3.0tdi dsg?
Are you having issues with your transmission?

I'm no expert but I see that some procedures do exist, however you would need VCDS and of course, you do it at your own risk :)

Post #8 details further steps to take but I am also not sure if this procedure differs between the dry/wet clutch s-tronic transmissions at all.

No I'm not having issues but I want to do a service soon.

Just need to find my damn cable.

I am starting to think this car hates me.

This is what 15+ years of heat cycles will do to headlight unit wiring:

I have exact same problem.
Been trying to get together enough courage to start stripping it & rewiring.
Let me know how it goes
