The Audi Thread

Read the manual.

Good chance you only need to change the cambelt at 180 000km.

Of course everyone will tell you to do it before then because that's what they just always do.

R12k sounds a bit rough though, unless it's dealership price then yes that's probably the going rate.

Yip, this.

Usually 'preventative maintenance'.

I am considering getting rid of my A4 b7 MT, hasn't given me much trouble, love it to death.... but its now on 90k, been out of plan for a few years now. So I can't decide if I should sell her while the going is good, but that means $$$$$ to get something else.

What advise would you give?

Renault offered R70K? I offer R72,000 cash, please let me know when I can collect.

Hi Guys.

I recently bought an 2014 Audi A3 1.4 TFSI. Really is stunning to drive coming from my old Toyota. I have been hitting a bit of a snag in that the car doesn't seem to start well.
It starts fine with the key, but when you have the Stop/Start system active it sometimes struggles/doesn't start at first when removing my foot from the brake pedal.
This means I have to put my foot back onto the brake pedal and release the brake pedal once more before it will start. Sometimes it will not start and I would have to start manually with the key.

From your experience, is this normal in respect of the stop/start system on the A3?
I had the car to Audi a few times already, but as the problem is intermittent they can never find anything wrong.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

guys whats the consumption on an audi

2.0
2.0t
and 1.8t

how good are the diesels though and are they trouble cars ?

2.0, mine averaged around 7.5 - 8L/100km. I recall filling up for about R850 and getting about 650km.

2.0T, well... I could get 8.5 - 9L/100km, but I do a bit more than that. R850 gets me about 550km.

Guessing 1.8T will be in between, but rather go B7...

Hope this helps.

Hi folks, uncle is letting this baby go.

Not sure it's a good deal but you can pm me if interested.

^ looks neat; slightly off topic but how does that (lowish) 88kw pull that decent sized body...

I thought the 88kw entry leave derivative was mostly aimed at fleet buyers.

Jip it is a 1.8T 88kw. It is a down-tuned entry level Audi that was sold for below R300k not so long ago.

I heard it is actually not so bad to drive (I think someone here said so)

But still, most 1.6 NA engines produce more KW
