Oh - sorry.

Thought through Audi. Audi extension is pretty expensive actually (and needs to be extended before 100,000km:

1 year only - R21,122.00 (6 year / 100,000km)
2 year only - R42,242.00 (7 year / 100,000km)
2 year / 20,000km - R38,764.00 (7 year / 120,000km)

I found the Motorite quote sent to me via The Engine Room who appear to be the agents for the underwriters (Infiniti).

This quote is from June 2015 for my 2010 1.8T Ambition S-tronic (under 60,000km on the odometer) and I suppose R390 p.m. would apply to me and is meant to begin after my Audi freeway plan expires end of November 2015. I need to read this thing properly but at a glance I'm unclear as to whether this policy even covers services as it might only cover breakage. There are a number of clauses that I don't like the look of. I'll have to contact them for clarification.

Those numbers don't really make sense. Besides being horrendous for an A3 it's cheaper to extend by 20000km and 2yrs than 2yrs only?

oh, and I forgot to mention the wind noise as well :( If you driving fast - above 90km/h, it sounds like you have a window open. Mine has a sunroof (which I keep closed)- so not sure if its that or just the car itself.
My C also has a sunroof, but I dont have windnoise issues at all. Maybe its the A that has that problem?

I saw this comment on a Merc A class thread, do Audis have this sunroof wind issue?

Well those were for an S4 - but when I checked an A5 2.0T they were only slightly cheaper. In fact last 2 year / 20,000km was more expensive for the A5.

And yea, no one at Audi could explain the pricing to me

It's not really cheaper unless you plan on averaging only 10,000km per year with the '2 year / 20,000km' offering.

For the 6 and 7 year offeirngs I suppose you'd be capped at 15,000km per year provided the odo is under 100,000km.

yes or no ?

its a 5 speed manual and apparently a b7..how do you know if this is a b7

i dont know but all i have heard is the b7 is a very good motor

insurance will be around R650 for me - high or par ?

im 2 minded ...im scared off the turbo and its a little high mileage for me

car is on average mileage though for a 10 year old car
 
anyone ????

so i took the car for a test drive and it didnt start properly the 1st time

so he said you need to apparently wait few seconds for the relay to kick in ...then the car starts

but the car drove very nice

is this normal for the car to start like that ?

Walk away IMO, both my B7s have never had starting issues (instant start).

But not only for the starting issue, the price seems far too low. Mileage is OK (on the high side), though it's OK if you're prepared to not be able to sell privately once you're done with it, and be limited to trading in.

I'll say it again, rather save up a bit more for a 2007 model with <150,000km.

its a guy at work

yeah price is low but its a 05 model
 
Took my car for its 90k service and after the guy test drove it he apparently poped the hood and the radiator hose exploded...

So what was supposed to be a 1 day service took more than a week..... and still not 100%. With the blown hose it also destroyed the front left halogen bulb, Audi want R2500 for a bulb :wtf: Anyway, mechanic said he can get an aftermarket bulb for a fraction so that's all I am waiting for. . . but fark I wasn't expecting the extra $$$ :cry:
