The Audi Thread

I havent checked that - but will do :)

Dude I have been looking for someone with a 3.0TDI on a A4 I have so many questions

Will keep you guys posted on the injector service kit - got my guy looking for it

Any recommendation on good wiper blades - besides R1200 at the dealer - got the Golf 6 GTI from Goldwagen in the OEM box for around R300.00 last month
Wiper blades are something my OCD can't compromise on so have always got them from the stealership I justify it in my head that they last a couple of years vs the other crap.

Have you tried the goldwagen website? I was browsing them the other day and requested a few quotes, which came through almost instantly, I think it's automated. I'm actually due for new wipers so let me try them and see what happens.

Have a look at your instant fuel consumption with your foot on the brake in d, then move it to n and have a look again.

I have a 3.0tdi B8.5 A4. Mine sits at 1.2l/h in d, 0.8l/h in n.

Being a wet clutch it can handle this, but dry clutches get worn by sitting in d with your foot on the brake.

Let us know if you find an injector washer kit.
My questions to you - a car guy thats wondering
I have a 3.0TDI on an A6
On your A4 hows the engine bay space when it comes to working on the engine?
Hows the torque on pull off , your car is lighter than mine which means it will fly off the line
Do you also have the 4 pipe exhaust that fully opens in dynamic and makes that beautiful V6 noise ?

I did ask Goldwagen and even though its listed for the A6 they told me they dont carry the wipers for that which is so strange but if you go to their website and put in details on the car it picks up multi brands of wipers and there is the bosch injectors

I also found blades on their site but check my previous post they say they dont carry for the car even though its on their website - I am sure I can match the sizee I think its 21" and get it from somewhere else was looking at the Bosch Aero and I think there is a twinaero as well.
Maybe swing by and ask them to find one that fits, should be easy to match by just measuring and finding one with a compatible mechanism to fit it to the wiper arm.

I think I will do that

I think some of the guys working there are not too clued up - I once went in for a sump plug for the GTI and the guy gave me a plastic plug , and I was dumbfolded, still there I started questioning why plastic the original one was metal and then another guy sitting next to him got involved and said thats the wrong part he was giving me a coolant plug for a E46 BMW coolant system

Engine bay is very cramped and car is very low so even an oil change needs jack stands.
Regarding the torque, one day my mate ran out of fuel a block away from my house and I went to tow him back. On an uphill, I just took my foot off the brake and started towing at idle. I've since removed my DPF and now it really hops, I get that DSG kick (kickdown, 7th to 3rd) I used to feel in the GTi and revs much faster now. Fuel economy has taken a dive though which I need to have a look why (maybe the remap?).
My exhaust is just normal kind (one on each side) with no flaps or anything.

Thats awesome - those 3.0TDI engines are something else
I took on a standard golf 7 GTI get once and it couldnt pass me - was at my fuel tank cap
These cars look boring but they are sleepers the 3.0s
I got mine to Speedo reading of 264Kmh @ 3500rpm in S7 last year when I attended the AOC breakfast run and the best part it feels like its not doing that fast the handling and the balance - that has made me fall in love with that car.
My engine is standard
Changes I have made were:
needle sweep
Video in Motion
tilt mirror on reverse
start-stop - to memory
Lap Timer on dash cluster so I can see oil temp

Never touched the engine yet but looking at DPF removal, EGR block off and software delete and if I can get the Adblue system deactivated that would be great.

I have the 218HP engine with is the detune of the 272HP - other markets its called the Audi A6 Ultra Diesel

Didn't you extend the Freeway plan? I had my brakes and wipers changed at the beginning of December and it was all covered.

Indeed, and I have 17" wheels from a 1.8T  I left an S3 in my dust one time. My cruise control goes to 250km/h :p
I've also turned off the seat belt warning even though I always where mine, I just got tired of reminding my deaf father to put his on when he's in the passenger seat.
It smells like a proper diesel now without the DPF, that's the only thing I don't like, but using 10ppm helps quite a bit.

I got the CDUC engine 180kW.

These are my favourite parts of the app, the stats page and the values I can see fuel level and esp battery level with working from home I something dont start up my car for 2 to 3 days now I know when the battery is getting low and I can start up the car. The person installing the unit (well literally pluging in the OBD2 device) said that if the battery goes down to a specific value the app will notifiy you thats a huge plus for me.

I would have liked it to have some OBD2 Functions like allow software upgrade to the car or change certain things but I get it they dont want people how have no idea messing with the car, I guess for that I will just use my OBDeleven scanner to make any changes i need.

Try use the ODB reader with a different app, like Torque, that would be a score.

Yeap they used the VIN number and worked out its an A6 and that injector is for the Amarok which both uses the exactly same CTCC 3.0Tdi engine, Looks like its going to be a visit to the dealership to check for the injectors the worst part is that it has one time only bolts so I cant open it and clean them without having replacement bolts - my plan was to service the injectors first, change the seals and copper washer and if that didnt work then full replacement but its seems its diffcult getting these part even though the engine shared on my VAG models

Why not first getting the injector price cleaned, they’ll probably be able to supply the bolts as well?

Nope I didnt car is around 149 000km so not worth it - I can do most mechanical work myself

I do my own basic repairs so I am hunting for the bolts now and not looking so great

Can i ask who you used to remove the DPF, EGR and do you still use adblue?

No modern auto rides the clutch with the brake engaged in Drive, creeping yes but that’s with the brake released.
Think about it, for a sec..

Mines a 2012 model, it doesn't use adblue afaik.
Man, it was quite a few years ago, it was some place in pinetown, can't remember the name but the next time I'm in that area I'll pop in. They made me a custom downpipe.
