The Audi Thread

It is due for a gearbox oil change, along with my Touareg, so it's going to be an expensive year maintenance wise.
Z F normally has a special from time to time - I think its about R3500.00 for a service look out for those.

I have gotten lazy having had two 'automatic' cars so the only time I drive a manual is when taking my '82 Golf GLS out for a drive and that is an entirely different experience altogether.
Yeah, I’m too old for manuals anymore.

My Touareg doesn't use a ZF, it uses a 8 speed Aisin, earlier Touareg's used 6 speed ZF's I think and the Amarok 3.0 V6 TDi uses an 8 speed ZF.
Yeah, torque converter tiptronic is what you’re used to and why you complain when driving the stronic.

I wouldn’t bother with EGR, think it affect fuel consumption negatively.
Guy that have done it says the car runs more free as you not putting in exhaust gases into the combustion chamber and less carbon build up as well - I guess I can live with a little more fuel usage what I am worried about that some people are reporting is that the engine temp goes up when they delete EGR

Yep, DSG in my wife's Q3 is a 7 speed from what I recall, the DSG in my Golf R was a 6 speed.
The diesel DSG boxes can handle higher torque
I think the 7 speed can take up to 650nm safely

This is the downside... The EGR reduces high temperatures in your cylinders due to less oxygen available. With the EGR gone you do reduce lifespan of your valves, pistons. Never buy a used performance car with an EGR delete.

I am on the fence with removing the EGR or not but I know the DPF and Adblue needs to go

Yes, temps are higher supposedly higher because there is more oxygen although I haven't noticed anything, just I used to get 1200km/tank, now its 800.
