I'm looking for some help with my 2021 Audi A1, which has an intermittent issue where it gets stuck in first gear. I can switch to manual mode and change gears, and everything is fine once I restart the car. There are no error codes on the dashboard.
This problem occurs randomly. I've taken the car to Audi twice, but they haven't found any faults. It usually happens under the following circumstances: the tank is full or was filled within the last few days, the car has been left idling for a long time, or, most recently, when I was stuck in traffic for a long period. After the first occurrence, I turn off the start/stop feature.
Whats the current mileage and when last was the gearbox oil and filter changed?I'm looking for some help with my 2021 Audi A1, which has an intermittent issue where it gets stuck in first gear. DurbanWhere are you based? If in Jhb, Pta or Cpt I suggest getting to a VAG Spec workshop and let them have a look.
Around 40k, just had the car servicedWhats the current mileage and when last was the gearbox oil and filter changed?
Whatever the case is don't take it back to Audi, they are generally useless and way over priced, definitely rather take it to the place @Neuk_ recommended or some other independent Vw/Audi specialist.
Try this:Around 40k, just had the car serviced
That's barely any mileage, unless you requested it Audi wouldn't have done the gearbox oil and with such a new low mileage vehicle not typically required unless you drive helluva hard.Around 40k, just had the car serviced
Yeah, first gearbox service is 60k. This is why I suggested the DIY method of resetting the gearbox. I'm also in Durban and don't know of any specialists here. That's barely any mileage, unless you requested it Audi wouldn't have done the gearbox oil and with such a new low mileage vehicle not typically required unless you drive helluva hard.
With tricky issues it’s best to take it to an independent specialist, Audi will soon start throwing very expensive parts at the problem even a gearbox replacement and it could be a relatively simple issue.
I've had them fit pads before, it’s a very basic job on most vehicles, you can even buy the parts yourself and they will fit them. That being said if they aren't a huge amount cheaper it is better to pay more and use a legit mechanic.Serviced my car recently out of motor plan.
Need to replace the front brake pads and disc's. I have a quote from local Super Quick and Vagspec and Bosch.
Super quick cheapest.
Any thoughts or reservations with going with Super quick?
Those are all dealers. You're paying an extra channel of markup.Serviced my car recently out of motor plan.

I fitted front pads with Supa Quick in Pretoria North. I bought the pads myself and they charged R250 to fit.Serviced my car recently out of motor plan.

It's an amazing deal considering by doing that you don't get gouged on the pads pricing and only pay R250 labour to fit them. You can quite easily get the whole job done for well under R1k depending on the vehicle.I fitted front pads with Supa Quick in Pretoria North. I bought the pads myself and they charged R250 to fit.
I need to do this on mine@Nithan15
I asked Audi to update my MMI to have Android auto but according to them it was one model too old. Enter this Youtube video with instructions on how to download and install the update. 30 minutes of watching a red screen count numbers later I have working Android auto with updated MMI.
