The average salary at the SABC

The SABC’s latest annual report revealed that the average salary package at the state broadcaster is R791,000 per year – much higher than most private institutions.

The report, tabled in parliament on 17 November, revealed that the SABC made a net loss of R511 million over the last financial year.

They want to be paid like high profit private sector companies and to be taken seriously like they deserve the big bucks, but don't want any of those pesky thing like "accountability", "performance agreements", "Performance based increases". KPI/KPA etc... Those are all WMC constructs...

look at SAA, Eishkom, or Prasa, on any SOE,
managers there can earn mega bucks, for doing nothing than having the right connections.

sure many of those employees dont even come into the office anyway,
but still get paid a Salary.
