The banking CIO who started to program on an Apple //e

Capitec Bank CIO Wim De Bruyn’s life changed when his uncle bought an Apple //e for his business when was 8 years old.

He was fascinated by the computer and what it could do, and this was the main reason why De Bruin moved into IT.

I got together with 2 colleagues and bought an Apple 2+ in 1980

My best friend's dad bought an Apple Macintosh in the early 80's.
A bunch of us spent the whole day playing Frogger on it. His dad was also in the study, busy at his desk.
After a hour or so, I left the Mac to my buddies, and went and asked him how it worked.
After he realized I meant how the computer worked, he was nice enough to put down his paperwork and explain it to me. I was 8.
The next week my parents bought me a ZX Spectrum. I haven't stopped since.
