The best chocolate??

What brand and %? I hear the processing Lindt uses apparently removes a lot of anti oxidants?

All chocolate has quite a bit of processing and a lot of refined sugar in it.
The higher % dark bitter chocolates have a lower amount of sugar but a higher amount of coco butter so its still a trade off.

Mmmm dark chocolate

Pretty much try and look for the one that has the least sugar and don't worry too much about brands I guess?

In the UK you get a 100% bar made by Hotel Chocolate. Heavenly stuff and obviously - it's got nothing added. Never seen a 100% bar here in SA though. I don't think I've seen Green&Blacks chocolate here either, which I also really enjoyed. Have you considered making your own, with cocoa, coconut oil & xylitol/honey/stevia etc? You'd need to eat it out the fridge, but it'll be healthier that anything you can by in stores. If you're wanting to buy something off the shelf - Gayleens chocolates are great, but they're rather expensive at around R12 for one of these:

But you did ask about the healthiest - so those would probably get my vote :).

Asking which chocolate is healthiest is like asking which gun is the most lethal :p

Carob chocolate may be slightly healthier than stuff made from cocoa, but then you're really nitpicking.

The best chocolate to buy healthwise isn't chocolate at all, it's called Carob.
Tastes a lot like chocolate but made of healthier stuff and doesn't have the mountains of sugar.

Some people hate it. Some people love it. I quite like Carob.

Edit: AlmightyBender just beat me to it. But good to know someone else also knows the truth :)

Two different things though. Carob doesn't have the flavonoids and antioxidants unique to cocoa - which is, I'm guessing, the reason for the OP wanting to eat chocolate, or specifically - cocoa.

There has to be a reason to eat chocolate??
:p I get ya. I've just I've got no idea why the OP's asking. The term 'healthwise' is such a mixed bag - it's hard to tell what people mean all the time.

There is no such thing as 100% chocolate, that would be pure cocoa.
Chocolate above 80% is too bitter for most people and not enjoyable.

Ok - Hotel Chocolate sell cocoa bars. It's creamier than you'd imagine solid cocoa powder to be :). I don't know what kind of process is involved to allow it to melt in your mouth, but they do it.

All chocolate is good. None is healthy except for Dark chocolate 70% + is good for men's sexual health. (increases blood flow to the penis) and may help the heart and blood cholesterol... There's no such thing as bad chocolate except that American Puke called Hershey Bars (Bwana might disagree) and white choc which has no cocoa solids therefore not strictly a chocolate.
