The best wireless earbuds you can buy

Wireless earbuds have become increasingly popular due to their increased portability and their lack of annoying cables.

Many of the world's top tech companies have developed their own wireless earbuds to capitalise on their rising popularity.

Wireless earbuds are becoming increasingly popular due to cellphone manufacturers removing the darn 3.5mm ear phone jack!

waiting for a decent manufacturer to make a pair with airpod design (the 1s with the tips hurt my ears) for < R1k.

If you are okay with the airpod design connected by the cable (not truely wireless) Gearbest etc have a wide range from cheap to pricy and JBL sell the Lifestyle Tune 205BT

Currently using a cheap pair, see pic

I have just gotten these from Gearbest. They fit nicely but the it takes a while to get used to wearing them.

It's bass could have been a bit better but all in all they are acceptable.

The touch control buttons are quite sensitive and if I had read the readers comments with more attention I would have chosen the version with mechanical control buttons.

But if you want the best earphones they will most probably be 5 to 10 times as expensive, just have a look at
Apple Airpods here for R3,799.

Got the galaxy buds and sound quality is good for music, only issue is they don't do well for phone calls if the environment is noisy. The other party will battle to hear you the mic cuts out badly they totally totally fail on that one

Calls are clear and work just fine in a quiet environment, can't complain

I bought Plantronics BackBeat Fit 3100's a few months ago specifically for listening to music while I run.

The sound quality isn't that great, but that's mainly because of the eartips that allow ambient noise through. A lot of bass is lost because of that. I was dealing with that just fine, but what's left me with a real sour taste in my mouth is the buds started emitting a high pitched sound when charging, or when off / not being used. So now I've had to pay for shipping back to the US, and then shipping back here.

I'm contemplating selling the replacements and getting something cheaper locally. I don't feel like they are worth the money.

Jaime, your article is truly lacking variety. In in order to say the 'best in SA' you need to really add more variety.

Off the top of my head
Jabra elite (65 and 65t)
Jaybird Run (I almost picked up a pair of these)
Powerbeats Pro
Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless
Sony WF‑1000XM3
Bose SoundSport Free

Note: All of the above listed are available at Takealot.
