Hey people, let me say i dont know alot about networking, but i have a huge problem on a nethost program. Here is my setup

wireless g usb dongle/computer(cough)
A gprs modem ,and is always connected
How if possible can i create a access point without a wifi router
My computer has a ethernet/lan plug behind it.It is build in the motherboard
I have a wifi device which i want to use to get on the internet through my computer through the gprs modem which has the internet connection
THe gprs modem is conneted to a serial port and not a usb port.
Can i create some type of access point,
I thought maybe a bridge connection might work, and put the usb wireless card in adhoc mode

Guys please help me as i have tried numerous times, but in vain

Haven't tried with a GPRS connection but yes, connect clients to your wireless in ad-hoc, share the internet connection you will get a notification that your IP address will be changed to - "192.168.1.1" or something similar.

The pc's connecting to your shared internet will have to point their gateways IP address to your wireless device's IP address (in other words the IP address they are connecting to which is your wireless device) and also assign static IP's in the same range as your wireless connection's to each client.

Remember to enter Primary DNS address in the client pc's also under the TCP/IP settings. Easiest way to find out what this is is to go to command prompt and type "ipconfig /all" on the PC with the shared internet connection and it will show all the details you need.

Not sure if you can share a GPRS connection this way but give it a try.
