What are your guys opinions on long term investment in XRP?

I have a fair amount invested in it, decided to take a bit of a chance on it while its cheap.

It looks promising.

As with most of the alts it's real value depends on long term adoption and implementation. Many of them have really good ideas behind them but long term prospects will come down to how well they execute. So you need to research the people behind it and evaluate their strategy, for developing and/or marketing their concept.

Ripple aims to be the new solution for global settlements and there are a number of major organisations running trials on it, including the Bank of England and Aeon Bank. If any of these announce adoption expect a bump in price. On the other hand, if banks express an interest in a competitor or development of their own systems, expect loss of interest. Ripple Labs, the developers, though, have publicly stated that they don't care about the XRP price and prefer to see stability and focus on the platform.

Pre-mined ****, was using it for short term gains. I have 0.5 BTC invested in it, as soon as it recovers near to what I bought for, I'm out.

Indeed, caught an unexpected knife on cexio this morning, now it's heading up :-)

This doesn't happen to me very often.

Wouldn't be surprised at a pullback later today as those who bought in too high before the dip now see a chance to get out. More opportunity for trading though.

I am just using it for short-term gains

I am long on CVC, PTOY, IOTA, DeepOnions, WAVES, BAT and some ETH. With a smattering of other alts. And BTC of course.

Oh yes, and mining ZenCash.

I have been eyeing Aventus. ICO started less than an hour ago. Bought some AVT. I think these have the potential to FLY:
