Thanks, that is a relatively impressive list considering the initial claim that only a very limited few will support it. Now the question is what are miners going to do.

From what I've read you have to be a bit more careful. It seems that it might be possible that a transaction sending from one of the coins wallets could possibly send the other depending on the state of replay protection in either blockchain.

So if you're paranoid apparently the thing to do after the split is create a completely new wallet, transfer your BTC to it, and then use the keys from the original wallet (now empty of BTC) to restore a BCH compatible wallet. That way you gan be guaranteed that the there is no possibility of your BTC from your original wallet somehow going astray. You should only do all of this after a successful fork.

I know BCH supposedly has replay protection that should prevent this but I don't know enough about the minute detail of it and this is kind of the Wild West still.

I am going to buy some BCH (BCC as Via calls it) alongside having a small amount from the actual fork and convert back to BTC on the 14'th. I am hoping it will survive as it is more in line with the original ideology.

Bitcoincash.org states: "Recommended ticker symbol: BCC". Don't know where that leaves Bitcoin Connect.

Bitfinex and some exchanges are calling it BCH. Just to add to the confusion, I guess.

I see some people still refer to BTU (Unlimited)?. And while the developers intend BCC to be "Bitcoin Cash", some people are confusingly referring to it as Bitcoin Core, which I think is incorrect. So we have this confusing maelstrom of Bitcoin Classic, Core, Cash, Unlimited and the acronyms BCC, BTC, BCC, BCH all used with varying degrees of inaccuracy.

This is not your public receiving address - these are your private keys that you have to be very careful with as anyone could use them to access your Bitcoin.

Each piece of Bitcoin you own has it's own private key so if you have received multiple transactions into your wallet you probably have multiple private keys but there will usually be some functionality to extract a single "seed" key, or a set of private keys, which can be imported into another wallet.

Ok.. So i'm on Mycelium. Account 1 contains 2 private keys. (That's what the app says). I don't see where to "get" these keys ?

You can get your seed by following this procedure: http://support.mycelium.com/hc/en-us/articles/207045535-How-do-I-make-a-backup-

Use that seed to restore your keys in another wallet.

What are you trying to do, anyway? If you're wanting to access BCH after the fork, no point in doing this until after the fork is confirmed, which could take a while.

I did the backup and have the 12 words written and hidden in my safe. Not trying to do nothing now, lol. Just want to know where to get that "seed" or "key". I'm a noob man - be patient. :crylaugh:

So BCH is now live. Although it will not have officially forked until the first block is mined. Nobody seems to know exactly how long that will be.
