BTC transactions are taking a long time to confirm :(.

Buying or selling?
Just transferring between wallet/exchange.
They've both seen the transaction & I can see the transaction info but it's still not confirmed. Been about 3 hours now, probably just loads of traffic. I'm not worried about it not happening, am just used to it happening much quicker than this.

Luno - is the example why I use Bitcoin. Transfering money from Absa taking AGES.

Just saw this on reddit re. transaction times (see the rainbow eruption on the right of the image): https://i.redd.it/quv9e59wtvlz.jpg

Followed by a comment:
For the past 2 hours, any transaction paying less than $2 went into the queue with no expected time to come out. Let's see how bad it gets.

Could it be a consequence of the BTC-China announcement? I suppose that many customers of the Chinese exchanges are scrambling to withdraw (while others are dumping at any price).

How long does Standard Bank to Luno's Standard Bank usually take if you EFT at night like now around 10pm? I've only transferred from FNB before.

I don't think even FNB transfers to luno clears outside of banking hours.

(Make sure you're using a bank account that's registered with Luno.)

I just noticed that for the first time that I have seen Luno's BTC value in ZAR is almost the same as the USD rate with a straight currency conversion. Only about 1-2% off. Usually there is more than a 10% premium.

Ah oops. My Standard Bank account is not registered with Luno, but how can they miss it. It asks which Bank I'm transferring from (Standard Bank) and I used the correct reference. I haven't had problems with Ice3x transferring from different bank accounts. But yea, if something can go wrong it generally does.
