The Bitcoin Thread

Gonna be some legit millionaires being created in this thread over the next year or two if this keeps up.

This is insane.
A few months ago I just wanted to store some of my buyout money in something with proper growth potential while waiting for my Joint to Single bond transfer to be completed...
Now I'm almost looking at settling my bond if I wanted to.

As much as I love BTC I don't think this party will last forever...then again, there are folks that must be used to this for years now.
Thinking of at least pulling my initial investment with some extra. Tough call.

One thing is for certain, looking at actual commercial usage transactions (roughly only 0.6% from what I've read) Bitcoin isn't actually being used the way it was intended to so it's waaaay over valued... who knows what's going to happen.

IMO, still very early days. There will be ups and downs, but market cap is still tiny. When its heading to $10 trillion, I'll start thinking maybe its time to cahs out...
That said, in all honesty, if you have enough to settle bond, you shouldn't think twice, do it. You can always buy in with the extra bond money you save monthly, having house paid off removing 20years debt in your life > unknown future of btc

If that is your financial goal and you can do it by selling now, then go for it.

So it wasn't actually my goal, my initial goal was to save to cover a future expense which I did, then double save for that expense with the same value in fiat savings, then put those savings into Bitcoin and see what happens.
That way worst case I'd still be able to settle my future expenses cash, and whatever growth BTC had would be parallel "gambling" winnings based on an amount that was already a liquidity backup amount to my expected expenses.
As far as BTC HODL goes, I was planning to keep mine until about 2021 unless something came up.

So, I have also jumped in on this. Only bought a very small amount (R1k) worth this morning. Not sure if it is wise to buy more or not.

I don't think anyone can blame you for thinking/doing that.
I don't mess with my BTC no matter what happens but in my mind I was thinking the same as you were, that the correction was about to happen (you know that itchy feeling in your nutsack)... almost had to change the linen on my bed when I woke up this morning.
:D I'm now hoping it drops from its current level and DCR rises until I get home :D

Whats dcr?
Decred

Damn, i cashed out about 50% of my holdings last night at 195k. I mean i still made like 700% on it and ive still got the other 50% . I was certain it wasnt going to go much higher than that but i guess i was wrong, not going to lose sleep over it though because either way this is the best piece of investment ive ever been involved in.

Jisis, I've been putting off posting this because you murrafukkas will laugh.

Last night at $12 997, I shapeshifted ALL my BTC to DCR thinking that surely BTC should start correcting now. When I got to the office I almost fell off my fscking chair :wtf:

My wallet is held in Exodus on a PC at home.
OMF, I forgot about my BTC stash on bittrex and cex.io. Not as much as the amount I have in Exodus at home, but at least I'm also getting some gainz :o
