I dunno. Ask the BMW people. You just don't get M (135M and similar doesn't count) cars with fog lights.

I would say better airflow needed for the most part.

A question - do fog lights actually work? When I had them on a previous car, and used them in actual fog (mist), all they seemed to do was make the blinding mist rather shiny. Could see eff-all further though..

Why?

You will notice that most high performance cars Merc AMG, BMW M, Audi RS etc have no fog lights for better air flow through the front end.
