The Brexit Thread

Indeed. Usual nonsense narrative that bares no semblance to reality.

As with the US, it's quite instructive to see how the areas that are most ardently anti-immigrant are the places that have the fewest immigrants, and the places where they actually live are the most pro-immigrant.

I'm giving you the reasons why people voted to leave. Nonsense or not, it doesn't change the facts.

Congress is consistent of the House of Representatives and the Senate.

House of Representatives is currently a Democratic majority.
The Senate has a Republican majority.

I think you are the naive one since your post seems to show you don't know the difference between what is termed as Congress and its constituent bodies.
Furthermore there is bipartisan opposition to helping the UK undermine the peace agreement. So this opposition would matter even if the Republicans controlled both houses.

Yeah, this again. Lets be scared of a terrorist organisation.
More a case of not being willing to f**k over the ordinary people of Ireland to appease their delusional leader.

As far as I know the EU allows for those sorts of controls to be put in place for immigrants from EU countries....
They do. The key players in the EU are also behind reforms. But just like working out trade deals progress is slow.

UK Treasury announces it will set aside £2.1 Billion for the No Deal scenario, to ensure critical items such as food and medicine can be secured.

Why?

I thought Brexit was going to reap countless financial benefits?

Brexit was going to release millions for the NHS but now the Government has to set aside money for it?

Mmmm I am sure this was foreseen, but was called fear mongering.

Geesus, you guys will whine about anything.

First it was crying about UK will not be ready for a No-Deal. Now they prep for a No Deal scenario and making sure the transition will not interrupt basic necessities and you cry still :D

£2.1Billion pounds won't solve everything. It is just to secure critical elements.

Brexit was sold to the voters as this economic marvel and now the day it kicks in, the Government has to spend £2.1 Billion just so that people can get medicine.

No one claimed it will solve everything, read your own article...

Still only about 1/2 of what they would have paid the EU for the year iirc. So still a win.

Hold on.. you think its a win that they will only spend half of what would have gone to the EU annually (and EVERYTHING functioned), just to ensure that they just have medicine?

For the time being yes.

When you Start a business, you have a capital outlay which you invest for future returns. So yes, it's fantastic news. If that means they don't have to Pay a Couple of Billion Euros per year in order to "remain" it's an investment in the future of the UK.

What article of my own must I read?

Are you OK?

Did your article say it's going to solve everything? It mentioned medicine and food stuffs. No one claimed it's going to solve everything. Stop being dishonest.
I didn't post any article. I was echoing opinions I heard on the radio this morning.

Except the £2 Billion isn't an investment in anything. It is a disaster fund.

The amount they pay to the EU is an investment, as they reap rewards for this.

The NHS is getting extra money if I recall. It was announced last year. Oops (https://uk.reuters.com/article/us-b...alth-service-cash-boost-reports-idUKKBN1JC10P )

I guess from the same guy who thinks posts a picture of the Daily Mirror as a "barometer" for how the country feels about Boris, I can't expect anything less. Then polls (poll 1 , poll 2 ) come after Boris is announced leader and shows the complete opposite to what Buka wants to portray. Oops again.

Sure, call it what you like. Origin of it doesn't matter either way. It's in the budget.

Sure, let me look at what the Pound is doing ... That indicates a good sentiment on the way people view this.
