I dunno hey, even when talking to a bona fide idiot (which I don't believe is the case here) I somehow think repeating synonyms of "stupid" ad nauseam isn't the most successful strategy at all.

I'm not even reading into it that much. He's completely wrong, has been since he posted that article and just rolled with it. In his defense he now defaults to calling me stupid. But the Irony is strong :D

He's of some opinion that it's Banks or people like him that the Leave campaign won. Which is not the case, never was. Banks and others used this to enrich themselves with schemes. It has fark all to do with the outcome of the referendum. But he will keep on arguing that it does...

Arron Banks' Firm And Leave.EU Face Fines Totalling £135,000 For Unlawful Use Of Customer Data

The UK's data and privacy watchdog has found that staff working for the Leave.EU campaign used access to the personal data of customers of an insurance company owned by Brexit's biggest financial backer, Arron Banks, to unlawfully send them political marketing material.

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is due to present the findings of its major investigation into the use of data by the EU referendum campaigns to MPs in Parliament on Tuesday morning.

According to leaked sections of the report seen by BuzzFeed News, the ICO notified Leave.EU and Banks' Eldon Insurance on Monday that they are facing fines totalling £135,000 for the data protection breaches.

Jusus, it's been pointed out numerous times it has fark all to do with
the referendum itself. They used it as an excuse to launder money. And that is what is being investigated. But you don't have the mental capacity to realise that, or you do, but got caught and now have nothing more to add that snide remarks trying to hide your own lack of comprehension of the same article/s you have been posting. Are you actually being serious here? :rolleyes: Banks is now the biggest political donor in British political history. He put more money into funding the Leave campaign than anyone else – more than £7m. He donated his office space, his computer equipment, his senior staff. He’s the co-founder of Leave.EU. And you say, with a straight face I assume, that he had nothing to do with Brexit and leave winning the referendum? Just wow...

So you too assume his money laundering trick and use of private offices/staff caused people to vote Leave instead of remain? I thought the defense when remain lost was that they didn't vote, they didn't think it was needed... Now we're on someone who donated money and laundered it had a part to play in people's sentiments to take Britain back?

I haven't said anything at all about money laundering. Are you saying the Leave campaign had no effect at all in how people voted in the referendum? All the promises made, adverts on buses and all the promotion of lies regarding what leaving would mean, this had no effect on the outcome at all?

What has using peoples personal data to unlawfully send them political marketing got to do with money laundering?

Not saying campaigning didn't have part in the outcome of the election. None at all. The issue here is Arron Banks laundered money. His donations could have been £1b it would not make a difference unless we quantify the laundering. That is what the issue is currently with the electoral commission and investigators.

This is the Brexit thread so we can talk about the influence Banks has had in getting an outcome he personally wanted for his own self enrichment. To deny he had anything to do with the Leave win in the referendum is being wilfully blind to the facts. He himself has admitted to the strategy to turn public opinion, and to putting the money and resources into achieving it.

Saw that article today by Orbital. My discussion with Davy is about his article about the money laundering. I'm happy to discuss your issues with people's data being used, if you ask me about it. Dropping in trying to side bomb our discussion won't work.

So you willingly deny him being investigated for money laundering. He made donations to channel the money and wash it. What amount actually made it's way into the campaign is of utmost importance. You are saying what exactly?
