It is all a shambles. Such rampant incompetence, disorganisation and all out confusion.
Literaly no surprise here. The EU must be laughing.

Primary reason for that being the people tasked with negotiating brexit do not actually want brexit ...It is all a shambles. Such rampant incompetence, disorganisation and all out confusion

A hardcore brexiter would not be bluffing when they say "hard brexit". The EU know full well that would be an empty threat from the likes of May, from the mouth of a believer it wouldn't be a threat at all, just a statement of preference. So you think a hardcore Brexiter would have rocked up to the negotiations and laid down the law? Delusional.

Those are two very different dynamics and they are guaranteed to yield very different outcomes. Whether it's better or not who knows, we'll likely never find out given that everyone at the negotiating table is against brexit.
Those who quit were never real brexit supporters. Come on now. That's because they all quit their job because they couldn't come up with anything better.![]()

And how would a hard Brexiteer have sold the Irish border question?
Checked out.

It’s no different for the U.K. just look at all the illegal migrants in the U.K. who aren’t from any EU country. To think that leaving the EU is going make it easier is to completely overestimate the abilities of U.K. immigration, whose budget has been repeatedly gutted by no less than the Tory govt. Most of these migrants don’t enter illegally from the eu, they enter legally as students or visitors and overstay their visa’s. U.K. immigration does not have the resources to follow up on these cases. And no Tory govt is going to give them more either. They have the legal right to enforce their borders - it is just that doing so is difficult.

Far more colourful language spoken in the office today. You’re being remarkably reserved in that criticism.

There's nothing special about the border other than it being the only land border the UK has. Hundreds of countries around the world have been dealing with land borders for centuries, including the UK itself in many of its past colonies. It really isn't anywhere near as big, and certainly not unique, a problem to solve as it is made out to be.And how would a hard Brexiteer have sold the Irish border question?
