The Brexit Thread

'cuse me, this is not 1984. The MPs who you claim believe in democracy are the ones who have voted against holding an election twice.

I claimed nothing of the sort. Besides, Corbyn is almost as big a cnut as Johnson.

And anyway, knowing Johnson, he'd set the date for November. He's liar, dontcha know?

Just keep having elections until you get the results and platform you want eh? Is another referendum also on the cards?

No opinion on what your hero Nigel has to say then?

Leavers, like Remainers, have *gasp* different opinions. It's quite funny that all the Remainers in this thread, on here, like yourself, align strongly with the ultra Remain faction. You know there are quite a few Remainers in the UK who believe the result should be respected and aren't interested in 2nd referendum/revoke A50 nonsense. I think people reading this thread get quite an incorrect impression about Remainers if they purely read this thread.

Umm...there is a mechanism to get rid of Johnson if the opposition parties so wish. That is the point. And you bring up Zuma - actually Zuma faced around 7 VONCs if I recall. The point is that they can get rid of him if they wish, however, the actual reluctance of pushing for a VONC is there are divergent opinions amongst Remain MPs who could be a temp PM.

Errr...you obviously have a low opinion of the British electorate. As I said way back, sophisticated Leavers like myself won't blame Boris for missing the date. We know exactly who to blame and it ain't Boris.

I don’t understand the word “sophisticated” in this context. Can you explain. Are there unsophisticated Leavers?

And I should have added, that actually being from the UK and having been born, brought up, educated and worked there for more than half my life, I think I have a better grasp of the British electorate than an Aussie with a hard on for Victorian England who lives in South Africa.

Wouldn’t you agree?

People who don't follow the news.

You aren’t a part of the British electorate, don’t tell lies now...

You can still classify yourself as one or the other based on how you would have voted Einstein. Where did I say I was part of the British electorate?

when you alluded to it in your post, my Aussie friend.

Fact, you aren’t part of the British electorate and just having a British passport due to some link via your Australian family doesn’t make you British.

Pretty easy when it’s all pie in the sky and you don’t have to live with the consequences.

In fact, how would you know what is best for the UK when you have been there only as a visitor.

Never commuted, never worked, never paid Council Tax, never paid a gas bill, never MOT’d your car, never had a PAYE tax code or even an NI number?

But yet you still deem yourself arrogant enough to know that the British electorate wants?

You’re nothing but a tourist.

Well said.

He seems to think the passport is the sole requirement to make him British, he’s basically clueless...

Absolutely spot on. And like Pitbull just because this thread was not on page 1, means it is no longer important. Lol wtf.

As an aside MOT'ing my car is the bane of my life.

Just hate it.

As an aside MOT'ing my car is the bane of my life.

I had a really good mechanic that would just take the car, get the test done, fix and return for the last 6 years, he retired due to ill health this year and the MOT was a nightmare, the garage I took it to did a shoddy job (I had to take the car for alignment as the tracking was so far out after they replaced a track rod end) and charged me almost double what the old mechanic did.

The wonderful invention of the internet means one can get a good scope of opinion without physically living there. By the way, did you know that even though Dave and Buka live in the UK, they failed to predict the EU referendum result, unlike me? Living there does not automatically give you a better view of things.

This, pretty much this.

Just detest spending half a day at a stupid MOT centre.
