You can bet £10 and up and get 14:1 on Jeremy Corbyn becoming the next Prime Minister
Oh look, Labour are trying to change the composition of the electorate...predictable because the current electorate certainly won't vote the current opposition into power. I will have to adjust my prediction if this nonsense is passed.
Strangely, my borough sent round the confirmation letters a couple of months ago already.I doubt there will be a December election if that amendment is included, there's no way the electoral roll could be updated in a matter of weeks.

Or *tinfoil hat on* they knew something was up a few months ago, and this has all been smoke and mirrors?Same here, though as the register is now updated monthly it's theoretically possible to have an updated register for an election in a couple of months.

Tories vs Labour aside, I just don't think that politicians are as clueless as they make themselves out to be sometimes. We're talking about one of the most powerful governments on earth here. Can anyone really take what goes on in televised Parliament seriously? It's more than likely just a show to hide what actually goes on behind the scenes. It's done to (rightfully) appease a potentially volatile public.BoJo's 5D chess at work then ain't it?

Yes lads. Time to drain the swamp!
You can't even vote, can you?
This is a South African forum. I suspect most people posting here can't vote in a British election. What is that to you?Any chance you could grow up a bit and stop posting like a red neck Trumper?

Yes you can. Will be cutting it close though. The district where my wife registered only updates the official voter's register on the 1st of every month but the letter they sent indicated that if an elections happens before they update the register, she can still vote.If I land on 1st December and they vote two weeks later, will get I be able to vote, or would I have registered before hand or something? I am British citizen.
What's an IHS letter?Yes you can. Will be cutting it close though. The district where my wife registered only updates the official voter's register on the 1st of every month but the letter they sent indicated that if an elections happens before they update the register, she can still vote.
She registered online but had to send through a copy of her IHS letter and passport before they accepted her application. Took about a week to get the confirmation back.
Sorry, meant the NHI letter she received when she registered at her local doctor. She could also have sent the letter with her job centre with her national insurance registration. They just wanted to confirm that she is a real person as she was registering for the first time. What's an IHS letter?
Thanks, I'll look into thisOne more thing. If you already have a UK address and know where you going to live, you can complete the online part before leaving for the UK.
