The Brexit Thread

This is a South African forum. I suspect most people posting here can't vote in a British election. What is that to you?

What, that Chris the BRIT with the Boris avatar and the Union flag can't vote? It's hilarious. Imagine being a wannabe for Boris Johnson like a school girl at a One Direction concert and you have to stand out side and listen :crylaugh:

Many people have that kind of awe and respect for the great British empire and hate to see the libtards destroy their own country by selling out to the EU. It's like watching Rome burn in real time.

Funny how Mays deal was also selling out to the EU, but when it was repackaged and resubmitted by a different person, even though it is the same, it wasn’t selling out. How does that work?

Really, a few toffs schit themselves at the new EU tax avoidance laws coming into play in 2020, invent the EU as a villain and conjure up Brexit, and people actually believe it. Quite remarkable actually.

I’m assuming you also fell for the “white monopoly capital” Bell Pottinger thing?

Don't worry. Water off a ducks back. Its embarrassing reasoning really. Most people who discuss US politics on here can't vote in the US election yet much bad blood has been spilled over that. Also notice how Dave never has a go at Orbital even Orbital can't vote either? Perhaps because they share the same views?

"You can't have an interest in "x" topic because you can't influence it."

Selling out to the EU?

The UK has been a member of the EU since 1973. Its entire economy is inextricably linked to the systems developed with the EU and to just jump off a cliff will wreck havoc. The vast majority of the UK's trade is with the EU. To self sanction this trade is "shooting oneself in the foot".

This is demonstrated by the deeply complicated matter of how to draw up an agreement to leave the Union. It has taken the better part of 3 years and there is still no significant or substantial way to leave, that everyone can agree upon.

It has devolved to a battle of ideologies, where one agreement is not agreed upon, only for that same agreement to be agreed on a few months later because their poster boy has put it forward. Ignoring the central fact that it conceded far beyond previously established "red lines".

Actually I plan on making money off the election through Ladbrokes so it is of huge interest to me to follow it closely as I plan on taking nuanced bets. And UK politics is far more exciting than the extremely dull SA politics.

Selling out to the EU?

WTAF is that about? How has the UK sold out to the EU?

You are a globalist. I probably won't be able to explain to you why it is a bad idea to try and run the world out of Germany if WW1 & 2 couldn't do that or why more local sovereignty is desirable because that goes completely against your entire world view.

People aren't supporting Borris' deal because it is a better deal. They just want to leave now because it has been 3 year already. This has been explained many times. Somehow you guys struggle with this very simple concept.

It's a case of either you get it or you don't, you don't even have to agree with it, but you can still understand it? Possibly not.

So how has the UK sold out to the EU?

And running the world out of Germany? What is this nonsense?

If they had accepted May's deal, they would have left earlier. Hence your point is invalidated.

Not sure what your waffle about Germany and WW1 and 2 means. The Eu has led to closer diplomatic ties and economic links between EU member states, such that the risk of a European war is at an all time low.

Clearly not in the same fashion as you... so how has the UK sold out to the EU, and again what nonsense is this about running the world from Germany?
Sorry bra. I can't help you if you are just going to play stupid and not even meet me halfway.

You don't think Germany has a large and influential role in the EU? Like come on, that is basic knowledge. I mean the Germans are the biggest advocates of austerity and that is the programme that was applied to basket case countries like Greece in the financial crisis (a programme that incidentally not yielded in terms of results). Also Merkel has been the biggest advocate of granting extensions to the UK even though Macron has been trying to play tough but Merkel *always* gets her way.

Outsized influence on the EU (whether it is true or not) does not in any way shape or form equate to running the world from Germany....

How many other posters are pretending to be British? With a Union Jack and Boris as avatar? With a username including "the BRIT"? Describing themselves as a "High Tory"?

How many other posters pretend to be communist anarchist when they are actually globalist?

Or does your black and red A stand for something else?

You do realise that anarchy is probably as far removed from communism as it can be?

Can you point out even a single post where I've pretended to be "communist anarchist"?

No, but I seem to recall a post saying you are not opposed to Brexit. Maybe people think you are against it because you're not frothing at the mouth like they are.
