I wonder if this is @Chris_the_Brit's father/uncle/other elder relative?

Brexit Party parliamentary candidate for Tynemouth revealed - and he lives in Australia

A film-maker has been announced as the Brexit Party's parliamentary candidate for Tynemouth - despite the fact he lives in Australia.

After spending almost 30 years living on the other side of the world, Mr Punchard says there would be no greater privilege for him than to represent the people of Tynemouth , a place he had only 'passed through' until recently.

The Conservatives getting it wrong again, and having to suspend another prospective MP candidate .

A second Tory candidate has been suspended by the party after it emerged he had claimed British Jews who visited Israel returned "brainwashed".

Amjad Bashir, who is standing for election in the Leeds North East constituency, apologised for the comments he made in the European Parliament in 2014, while a Ukip MEP.

It is understood that the Conservatives had initially been satisfied by Mr Bashir’s apology, which he made to the Conservative Friends of Israel.

However the party has since confirmed that Mr Bashir, who defected to the Tories the year after he made his comments, had been suspended from the party.

The spokesman added that the suspension was “pending investigation and election support...

The real question is, why are the Tories putting UKIPers up as MP candidates?

I thought Muslims were bad? I also wonder if Amjad Bashir would have been able to get into the country if the likes of the UKIP had the immigration restrictions they so desperately desire?

No surprises here. Liebour need to cheat as much as much as possible as their traditional supporters find Jezza repellant (Tories have a bigger lead over Liebour when comparing the working class to middle class).

Fears of mass election fraud after hundreds of students are illegally registered to vote as Tories call for probe

FEARS of mass election fraud were growing last night after worried parents said their student sons and daughters are being illegally registered without their knowledge all over the country.
The Sun yesterday revealed that Labour-controlled Plymouth Council broke the law by registering 850 students without their permission.

That included 247 17-year-olds, who are too young to vote.

But it emerged tonight that the shady practice that Tories think is a bid to boost the leftwing vote could be taking place nationwide.

Multiple reports were made to The Sun today by concerned parents.

They said their offspring had been sent polling cards out of the blue at their addresses in university towns all over England, despite never requesting to vote there.

They included Lancaster, Nottingham and Hendon in North London – each the location of close marginal fights between Labour and the Tories.

Tory chairman James Cleverly last night called on the Electoral Commission to begin a nationwide probe to discover how widespread the illegal practice is.

Only individuals can register themselves to vote under a law change in 2014 to halt voter fraud and intimidation.

Mr Clevery told The Sun: “This raises extremely serious questions about the integrity of our system and apparent lack of checks and balances to ensure those registering to vote are doing so of their own accord.
“I am calling on the authorities to launch a full investigation into this immediately.

“Democracy begins and ends with trust in our electoral system. It is vital that we get to the bottom of these very concerning allegations, before that trust is eroded any further.”

Some Tory candidates last night questioned whether Labour councils were working in cahoots with universities.

Don't bother posting articles from the Sun please.

You do know that Plymouth Council admitted to it, right? Or you didn't get that far? Reading a bit more about it, looks like the univeristies are in breach of GDPR.

You forgot to use comic sans or a /s tag...

;)

Says the guy who posted fake news that BoJo was constituency hopping...

By the way, the Labour candidate has a whole section to anti-Semitism and anti-Israel comments. No surprises there.

Yep, polls worked so well for Theresa May when she wanted to increase her majority.

Because Theresa May and Boris are same people.

First of all, Boris is far more charismatic than May but more importantly Corbyn. Doesn't take a genius to work out who'd have better banter at a bar.

Secondly, Conservatives aren't going to make the mistake of 2017 where it was made out oldies would have to sell their homes to pay for their social care ("dementia tax") or bring up old fogey stuff like fox hunting.

Thirdly, CCHQ had no digital campaign in 2017. They have now got very smart Aussies and New Zealanders running the digital side (https://amp.ft.com/content/a61cd0b2-0ba4-11ea-bb52-34c8d9dc6d84?__twitter_impression=true - I use Google Chrome Incognito to get around the pay wall). I mean go to www.labourmanifesto.co.uk.

You know i'm talking about the reliability of polls in general right?

The only polls that are reasonably accurate are exit polls. YouGov for example was founded by Conservative members.

I wouldn't vote Tory or Labour in this election, however people like you who will slurp up any BS spouted by Boris is the reason we are in this mess in the first place. Charisma means absolutely f-all. - maybe you should read up on his London mayor record.

You realise Chris bases his opinion on a few weeks holiday in England and what he reads in the Daily Mail, Twitter and Facebook (and maybe even forums like Stormfront:rolleyes:)?

Johnson's tenure as mayor predates his holiday visit ;)
