Post Office replaced in South Africa

Before the South African Post Office (Sapo) first became technically insolvent roughly 10 years ago, trust in the institution had already waned, and courier services effectively replaced it, with extensive networks reaching most of the country.

With e-commerce rapidly growing over the past ten years, South Africans and businesses alike have needed a reliable way to send and receive packages nationwide.

The post office was replaced a long time ago, it is just being frequented by the nostalgic people. Most of us have moved on years ago.

I used them a lot, but switched to Postnet a long long time ago.

Well government does as it pleases legal or not, so shall I, I will not be using the post office for anything, not even packages under a Kilo, even if it means putting extra weight in packages. The ANC will not be running it's extortion rackets on my watch.

That said: Any SOE which gets taken over by privatisation needs to be regulated specifically to prevent them from cornering the market and drive profit above all.

Eskom has also been replaced, this happens in a country run by people who had no shame about bombing supermarkets, the entire country is on its last legs. and every single SOE is bankrupt. Here's an idea why don't you let them decide your future
