i love my uno mia , but the cherry QQ interior looks sexy inside, also has a lot more torque and 24km per litre ? WTH ? i guess thats on highway consumption without traffic but still !

has anyone on the forum got this car yet ? i only have seen like a handful in durban ... count: 3 cherry QQ's ... if i get this car will it be like going from fairly ok and reliable to very bad ? will i actually QQ all the way home in the 0.8 or is it nice to drive ?

I would never get a Cherry, not from what I have heard about them anyway.

But even if cherry was a good make, I would never buy a 0.8...

Go to AutoTrader. Do a search for cars around the same price as the QQ. Pick a random page number. Pick a random car on that page. You've just picked something better than the Chery - congrats.

There might not be a worse way to spend a given amount of money than buying a Chinese car. Seriously.

I believe the Cherrys suffer from Rust Problems. That was according to a Panel Shop in Cape Town that deals with them.My personal thought is that a Chinese car would be a coffin on wheels!

The car it was copied from is streets ahead in terms of quality - the first generation Daewoo Matiz. But as enigma said, just pick any car off Autotrader at random, and you'll find a better deal.

Stay away from Chinese cars. I had a look at one of those Chana bakkies the other day, demo model with 250km. The bakkie part was already rusting, the paint was peeling, the seat cloth was tearing and the dashboard had what looked like water damage.

A sad indictment on a car when a first generation Daewoo Matiz is streets ahead in terms of quality than said car.

sigh with a 1.1 i do feel a bit sad sometimes :D , i guess i will have to be booked into the asylum after buying the 0.8. which wont happen , im checking out my uncles atos which looks really nicely done.

looking for a fuel saver as my pocket is tight , well almost:wtf:

OOOO love these lines:
If I could burn it or push down a mountain I would
one mechanical technician at Chery George test drove the car and the first thing he said when comming back is (This is a dangerous car)
my Wife and kids lives are at stake
yesterday a guy asked me about a Chery he wants to buy and I told him that will be the biggest mistake EVER!

Eish... :erm:

I bought the Tiggo 2l TXE. I had no engine problems as such, its just that my 13 year old Mazda 626 2l thats using oil has a higher top speed and more power (and better fuel consumption).
The interior was crap. Actually crap is a kind description of the interior. That's their top end car, I cant imagine their bottom end being any better. Stay away from it.

Sadly anyone who can buy a car because the interior looks sexy, shouldn't be buying a car at all.

To then choose a car that should not be allowed on our roads at all is even scarier!

THEN....to look at an Atos which flops over like a jellyfish if you corner too fast is totally amazing!

NEVER buy a Chinese car simply because of price or "sexy dashboard"....if you are actually still alive at the end of all this, then you will live to regret the experience.

There are plenty of good buys out there...for Pete's sake don't be stupid.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Dont mean to sound like a chop, but from your replies and OP it seems you dont know much about cars. So when looking for a new car, the web is your friend. Do as much research and learn as much as possible about the car you are interested in. Stay away from Chinese stuff like Cherry...you better off with an old Honda that has 200 00km on the clock for the same price. Muuuuch better value for money ;)
