That is totally disgusting, the police are meant to be there to serve and protect the public, what these cops did is unacceptable and they should be charged in some way!!!

This happens on a daily basis, dozens of times per day in one way or
another. I personally saw cops leave a rapist and a victim in one room
a few years ago, and that was in the Cape Town metropole.

If the police have reasonable cause they can kick down the door, in this case they should have rescued her.

These officers should get kicked out the SAPS, they are only there for the paycheck, not to serve and protect.

As for them claiming to be going to fetch tools, that is a crap exscuse kicking a door in is not hard

Besides the story being a media report (take with a pinch of salt) I suspect it was their fear of getting kicked out of the SAPS <exactly as you put it> that stopped them kicking down that door. Uncertainty of going inside perhaps. I don't buy the media spin entirely.

I disagree. Just speak to people in the townships and they will tell how much they
love, respect and trust their cops. I don't think I ever met a black township resident
who was confident in the police ability to respond to his call for help.
