The Craft Beer Thread

Yeah at those percentages, for beer, you want to age it. Not just in glass, but on oak or some form of wood that's charred so that it can mellow out.

I made a freeze distilled mead once. Holy hell that stuff was angry.

Had that beer last weekend, it clapped me for a 6 out of the arena after a quarter bottle, went straight to the head. In terms of taste, definitely not my taste. Some people might enjoy it, for R298 a bottle its not for me.
Yeah. I'm not paying R298 for a 340ml beer

Bought mine from the brewery themselves, think it was R240.
Either a 26th December starter for the day or a 1st Jan last round....

These units went fast despite the price tag.

Can’t seem to find Leffe anywhere at the moment so had to settle for this

Returned from a road trip up to Gauteng, then to Sabie and back.

While in Sabie I tasted and collected some beer to taste again at home.

In the way down I also stopped by Matjiesfontein for lunch to collect a lager that's actually brewed here in Durbanville where I stay, but never seen here for sale.

Here with my non professional presentation.

There seems to be a nationwide shortage of Leffe Blonde

I recently discovered Dragon Ginger beer, the Double Dragon is the best, a more gingery bite and 8.4%.
Brewed in Woodstock Cape Town but not too easy to find but they do sell it on Takealot.
Takealot’s Liquor license apparently has issues so they aren’t selling alcohol currently.
