The Craft Beer Thread

Will try and post some pics when back in SA, but so far pretty underwhelmed by US craft beers.

Tried these two on the weekend, very nice. Old Harbour from Hermanus, and Foster's Folly from Struisbaai.

Stick to the big name's in the US craft scene and you will be fine: Stone, Sierra Nevada, Dogfish head, Russian River, Firestone Walker, Anchor Steam, Drakes, Heretic, Faction etc...

^^^ Nice color. Will check it out. Busy with this right now:

Flavor reminds me of the red (rooibos) espresso.

Ah explains the "red" Missed that part. The Porterville Porter is really good IMO. If you like a chocolate taste then this one delivers.

don't seem to be many of those available in Florida, although did get my hands on a dogfish head which wasn't too bad. Also had a Jai Alai IPA this evening which wasn't too shabby.

Damn you I was 1 minute away from brewery today and was going to stop in for a few brews and Marlin was on list but I had to work :D

sat in the town square in Ghent a few years ago quaffing a DT, was sitting at a bar that had over 150 unique beers as I recall, each came with its own branded glass, the Belgians are fanatical about things like that, a real beer culture.

I managed to get through 6 different beers in the afternoon, then had to go out for a business supper...

What? I can't hear you over the sound of pink elephants stomping.

:p
