The Craft Beer Thread

I predict disappointment on the bonte bok. Curious to hear what that black ?IPL? is like.

IPL - basically it's should be an IPA that fermented with a lager yeast at lager yeast temps (10C - 12C) instead of ale temps (16c - 21c).

The thinking is that using clean fermenting lager yeast strains will help accentuate the hop flavours.

I had one of the Brewhogs IPLs once - didn't blow my hair back.

Wooo! Our first batch of ready-for-market amber ale, Zen, is ready to go. Will let you guys know when/where you can get it. Right now it's just on tap at the Matie's Beer Appreciation Society from tomorrow.

Nice one!
Hopefully a few bottles available at Roeland or Liquor City soon :). Will be sure to try it out if I know it's there. Let us know.

Should be at Roeland by the end of this week (Frost Hammer, that is - Zen is keg only for now until we sort out the bottle design).

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
Not really a Saison person. I mean - it tastes fine but there's just 100 other beers I'd rather be drinking. Can't quite put my finger on it.

Had an &Union Friday, or 2... Paired with a lekker chicken stir fry. Lifted it to a next level. Nothing beats a good craft and food pairing.
