Well, it seems that the CUG is dead. Poopband.co.za is not up and running any more. Oh well.

This page-not-loading completely problem is driving me nuts. Sentech is not responding to emails about it.

Par for the course. **** YOU SENTECH. I will be glad when your business fails, good riddance to bad rubbish!

Virtually all of us have cancelled MW and moved onto greener pastures (paid for with a kick back received from Sentech management).

At R9k a head it was a cheap way for Sentech to make the problem disappear.

I dont think CUG were paid out... I just think they were outwitted by someone as dimwitted as Sentech and I mean... I would be pretty embarressed about that so I would also keep quite afterwards :p

Anyways thats not fair I only got 4K.

To be honest, I don't think many of us really give a damn what went down - I certainly don't. Too busy with other stuff. I did, however, mention the CUG in my cancellation fax, indicating that even after that meeting, absolutely nothing improved and that my faith in Sentech getting things right is basically non-existent.

Reading between the lines, I think that's the conclusion the CUG obviously came too. I would've cancelled a few months back if I had a fixed line, now I'm just forced into getting one because I absolutely have to have a decent connection at home for business purposes.

I'll say one thing, the people involved with that actually got of thier arses and did something - anyone really wanting to know "what went down" should have got off thier arses to and been there in the first place.

Another thing, all the info that TheRodent put up about MyWireless is still there on his site - tweaks, drivers - all of it. So go figure, there was no personal motivation going on there, it was a genuine attempt to help solve problems.

Still, I wish I would've got in the CUG now - I would've pushed for a R10 000 payout ! [:D]
 
Yep I think the CUG just got fed up with Sentech as well as getting torn apart on the forum by irate people, it just wasn't worth all the effort. The writing was pretty much on the wall once TheRodent, one of the strongest proponents of MyWireless at its inception, dropped it for ADSL. All I can say is Sentech has dug its own hole and I'm glad this forum exists else I would probably also have been suckered in [;)]
 
DON'T hold TheRodent and the rest of the CUG *spit* up high and say "Oh, they did so much, and blah blah blah".
I say, they were in this for themselves, and NOT "all sentech users". Once they got relieved of their sentech connections they disappeard. I'm STILL waiting for a summary of what happend that day as promissed by the CUG *spit*

I think rpm should also remove their moderator status from this forum, as they have no right to moderate us anymore.

I have no problem with the CUG. In the end, we all had to make up our own minds about sentech. There is no one person (or group) that can decide for all of us. I am dying to know what happened at the meeting and what went down, but that doesn't mean my life is stopped when I don't know. :) Big up for all the peeps still here (BALLS OF STEAL!!!) Me myself, i kicked sentech in the balls (after he/she/it reamed me good) and cancelled. I feel better. I only need my connection up before the end of the year, so Telskum has about 2 months!

Nonroker, you stil sticking around or are you also gonna kick the monster?

I think we all missing the point.
Had Sentech worked to begin with as they advertised there would have never been a CUG to begin with.
Also the CUG didnt promise anything... well not that I am aware of... Maybe they walked away from the meeting with a sense of hopelessness and really just resigned all together.

Whatver the reasons we have to realise that no one is accountable to anyone here expect Sentech. I am not paying the CUG I am paying Sentech...

Sentech have done bugger all in the past two months which says to me two things. We do not need a feedback from CUG for details. Its in the open, Sentech are crap and chances are the problems will never be resolved. No 3rd party needs to 'harm' Sentech's image... if anything its the only compitent thing Sentech can do on their own and that is harm their own image.

Its strange because Sentech are seeing this as a customer problem... they might even be irritated by us moaning... but I wander if they have realised that it is to their own benefit that they fix things.... because how many MW user will renew their contract 2 years from now when their probably be so many other providers?

They are going to die... they did to themselves. It will just take time.

The whole point of the meeting was for them to represent the users. They didn't, they represented themselves.

Anyways, I don't really care. It just gets me when people try to raise "them" on a pedestal. I'm happy with my local speeds lately, intl still sucks, but atleast using another proxy server I can get good intl speeds.

Maybe I should go search the archives and use one of their quotes as my signature? Nah. To much of a mission...

I've not been involved in CUG of late due to time constraints... The cancellation of my service had nothing to do with CUG ... It had to do with a yellowing speed ticket that I insisted gives me the right to cancel.

nonroker - you've been swearing and bitching at Sentech ... why don't you then make a move and do something about your predicament ? (Other than bitching and enjoying the feeling you get every month when Sentech screws another R850.00 out of you.)

While I agree with you that local speeds have been better towards the end of my service (31 October), the whole approach by Sentech and the way in which they do things just didn't gell with me. As I cannot get ADSL, Sentech sucks and dial-up is too costly, I've gone with iBurst ... early days yet ... but at least no contract .. gives me freedom to move.

For your sake I hope you do "something"...

I have a right to bitch, I WAS doing something about it until I found out:

1) I can't get ADSL, optic exchange
2) iBurst's 3GB cap is not nearly as bad as their "all other services will be capped at 64k" which screws me over anyways, since I use ssh mainly.

Besides, I got a 64K ISDN if I want to play online games.

I can abuse the Sentech connection as much as I want for my R850 pm, that's lots of local torrents and multithreaded intl downloads.
It gives me freedom of movement, which is nice since I'll be moving house in December.

Yeah... now that they've put up a few more towers etc etc, my sentech connection is not really that bad.
