Just watched it last night at the cinema for the first time.

It's a really cool movie and if you have a girl/lady/partner I'd recommend seeing it.

I thought Brad Pitt had a performance worthy of a few Oscars and so did Kate Blanchet.

I've still got a bit of trouble getting the movie out of my mind, because it was so intense.

Just make sure to get some popcorn or drinks (I didn't), because the movie is almost 3 hours long.

Really cool ;)
Watch it :D

+1 on the movie though. Was quite good. Still need to go and see it on the BIG screen though :o ;)

The Curious Case of Brad Pitt. He was a hunk for schoolgirls, now he's a hunk for middle aged women. ;) Actually not all that curious ... :)

Will he do Matlock when he gets to that age? Be a hunk for senior citizens? Prolly.

I enjoyed it, my friends thought it was dragged out boring...
It's like Big Fish and Forrest Gump, really good :)

At 3 hours, I may wait for the DVD though

excellent movie. i really rate brad pitt as an actor. i'm a straight male, but he still rocks my world ;-)

i mean: interview with a vampire, 12 monkeys, SEVEN, sleepers, fight club, snatch, oceans, burn after reading and now... this!

i reckon he should have won the oscar. not that tobacco chewing, wife-beating tool Sean "Pig" Penn.

Seriously? Just about everyone on this thread enjoyed it? I hated every second of it. It's nothing compared to the short story written by F Scott Gitzgerald. The movie is basically an excuse for Brad Pitt to parade around and for the director to show off some pointless SFX in the first quarter of the film. I do agree with ace_rizzle on Pitt's other performances though, I just think this one was pointless, but NO WAYS should Pitt have won the oscar, it should have gone to Mickey Rourke.

I reviewed it here: www.cinemasynergy.blogspot.com

To be honest.

I never read the book, but don't care for it either.

This movie was a great story on it's own. Even it wasn't completely centered on the book, that's the nature of movies in any case, to be realistic events, not literature.

I think it was an amazing movie and it was truly the most intense 3 hours of my life so far.

It was gripping, cool, sweet, sad, up and down, everything in between.

You may think I'm a really boring individual admitting it, but I had fun seeing it and I thought it just ruled.

Taking it on it's own merits. I really think every actor in the film did a good job and I agree, as my initial post says, Brad should have gotten an Oscar for it. More than one Oscar in my opinion.

Still have to see this one.
Friends of mine that have seen it, also recommended it.

Ello teratjie! :)

@Tera, if you'd read the book, you'd understand.
As a film (pretending it's not based on a book), it's still complete crap :) I think it's one of the most overrated movies of our time. None of what happens in the film matters, none of the acts or people BB meets actually has any effect on his life, he's almost like a spectator to his own life. This film has absolutely no depth.

It won 3 oscars: Best Achievement in Visual Effects, Art Direction and Makeup (all undeserved in my opinion) better visual effects than Dark Knight? LOL!!! Sure, whatever.

Dude, it's cool that this movie did something for you (I have no idea how), but there are way more 'intense' movies out there.

If I had more time on my hands, I'd be reading this: http://nobenjaminbutton.wordpress.com/
