the day i vote anc will be the day zuma breaks away from anc to form his own politcal party with the likes of the youth league and prolly cosatu.

it would be good though to have two strong parties as opposed to one lazy gaint.
 
Ya, the ANC is much too powerful.

You mean, greedy giant. I share the same sentiment, I loathe to think Zuma may rule, unless someone can tell me why? otherwise to have a single majority party is no good, we can see daily what is happening!
 
I must say with the whole anc infighting I hope it comes to a split down the middle.

I never see it happening, they will make up and share beds before relinquishing the current status quo! Look in the Cape?
 
halicon : That would be a good thing indeed. And I think the ANC would like nothing more (They, also cosato and sacp, have been thwarting Mbeki repeatedly in the past, even before he was president), but they would loose a lot of their support

But I have already voted ANC before. In the last national elections. It was a vote of confidence in Mbeki, Manuel, Erwin and some other.

But I also voted DA in the local elections because I think Zilla will be a better mayor than Mfeketo was

I wouldn't be so certain, the situation within the ANC seems realy stressed. I have heard talk from the SACP about going its own during ellection times.
 
Vio : That is merely a threat to get the ANC to toe the line. Problem for them us the SACP isn't that powerful anymore, so their threat (which they make every couple of years) is getting less and less effective
 
True, they are not as strong as they used to be. I'm sure though that they will find support if they do break away. Theres allot of poor masses that believe in equal distrabution and nationalization.

That communism? Now we all know it does not work. How far are the ANC and SACP really apart, is democracy here also a farce like the rest of the anti west EU/USA countries?
 
pupa : What?! Did you not get to vote in the last election? Did your vote not count towards the representative council? This is a serious matter and you should report it to the IEC

Or are you confusing communsism as a political system and not a economic system? This is a mistake many uneducated people make (And a belief the US government pushed to create an opposite/enemy to democracy). Remember that the SACP competes in the elections as a political party
But this is surely not what you meant. You must have meant the former

A democratic election means that everyone has an equal opportunity to vote. It doesn't mean that your party of choice didn't win that we don't have a democracy. What you seem to be suggesting is that EU/USA are more democratic compared to anywhere else. Need I remind you of the vote count farce that took place in Florida, USA which conveniently was the deciding state?

I do not imply it that is what it seems, if it is the truth I would not know. Wheeling and dealing with country's the west is not friendly with makes no good indication of where we stand? Going from the posters on this forum I would say yes your understanding of my statement holds water but I stand to be corrected!

Is some of the middle east states that hold an election democratic, Is changing the voters will democratic, (Cape DA, Floor crossings) Is the monopoly protection in the country democratic, There is certain rules in a democracy it is not all about votes! Like in Palestine! Because the PPL elected Hammas, that was democratic? yes to a degree, Yet they will not be able to join the EU as they do not meet all the criteria. You cannot be a democratic society if you oppress the people once you get the vote! or woks against the voters well being for own gain! Then I call it a farce!

Typical African mindset, no wonder Africa is such a big Fcuckup. Have democracy, vote me in then Fcuck You I have the power and the money I steal, come next election get a scapegoat, blame apartheid brainwash the "electorate" show them the 200000 hoses (Brick shacks) and get the vote again and repeat the cycle. Thus like Zim this makes for a successful democracy and what is happening in the Cape!
 
I think that Im gonna vote ANC in the next elections cause I wanna feel how it feels to win for a change.
