Hi.

So firstly, i bought the hard copy of the game and everything works great. My brother liked what he saw and bought the game on steam and just copied the game from me. Now for some reason when he launches the game it says that he must enter the game key, but the game has already been activated on his steam and uplay.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

He has to install it through steam. There is no way the uplay version will work by just copying it if has been purchased via steam. Been there done that.

I still think it should work tho. The game installed with steam and when you run it, it opens uplay and then the error pops up. The best part is he was in queue for 10.5 hours with ubisoft support and when he finally got his turn they just disconnected the chat... So really, f@ck them.

So it was installed via steam?

Have you tried copying the game folder to steamapps\common and then trying to install?

In the future always assume ubisoft games will have a issue. I so nearly bought this but luckily i saw the ubisoft logo.

If you use the Steam key does it launch?

Creating a Steam Backup will work as well, in my experience it works better than copying the files via Windows Explorer.

The hard copy installs directly to ubisoft. The code inside does not work with steam. So i gave him a copy of my game. So what he did was put it in steamapps/common, then verified it and it said everything was good. So when you launch division from steam it gives you your key which they say you must type in when the game launches from uplay. When he enters the code it then tells him that the code is already in use on this account. So the game is in his library but it just keeps on asking for the key.
