Those of you who know of the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT stuff in DOS should have a nice time here.

When installing a DOS system from scratch, I usually added the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files by hand... but always got the urge to put in BUGGERS instead of BUFFERS :D

Resisted the urge so far, but was reminded of it today by some testing I had to do :D

I remember adding random DOS commands in autoexec.bat and other batch files to run on startup. Always loved the create directory one (looping obviously).

Going to places like game that sold Win98 based PC's & copying the system.dat into the autoexec.bat...

I've done that too. That, however, can be reversed with a "shutdown -a" command.

I think I still have my ideally hand crafted multi-boot option CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT file saved somewhere. Gave me the max memory for games under different configurations! Aaah... those were the days.:cool:

we knew what everything in there stood for... and how to tweak it! ;)

Those were the the good old days :)
Used to spend hours tweaking those 2 files

Ya, the good old days

trying to get your sound blaster, cdrom drive and max memory for your game :D

edit, start game, reboot, start game, edit, reboot, start game, edit, reboot, start game, edit, reboot etc etc etc
