The Easiest Root Method is here!

Probably be the easiest root method has been
released, it maybe old news but i just found it
recently. Simply download and install Universal
Androot (153 kb): http://www.speedyshare.com/files/23723893/UniversalAndroot.apk Open it, hit the
Root button, wait until it says your phone is
rooted and then after that reboot your
phone, voila, its rooted .Heres where i found it:

Use caution. Not all phones root the same way so this might (and probably won't) work on all phones.

This is meant for the X10 and is under the X10 sub-forum on XDA.

Is it safe to say that my Sony Ericsson X10 Mini (1.6) is supported?

Botched Root attempt - Xperia X10 Mini

It seems something went wrong during my root attempt.

I downloaded UniversalAndroot.apk to my SDcard. (it downloaded as a zip file & using Linda File Manager I changed the extension to apk) & ran the file using Linda.

Application was installed successfully & I ran the program from the applications menu. Waited till it confirmed my phone was rooted.

Restarted my phone & the following message popped up: "The application home screen (process com.sonyericsson.home screen) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force Close" The same message kept on coming back when I selected "Force Close"

I pressed the Power key and Home key simultaneously to restart my phone & now it is stuck on the Sony Ericson splash screen. Tried a few resets with the same result.

Please advise what I need to do to sort this out.

My ADW Launcher did the same but simply restarted itself as it does that almost everytime i install a new app. You may have to reinstall the fw then,thats the only way i can see it working again. This root method was originaly made for X10mini and X10miniPro,so it may just have conflicted with something unfortunetly on yours. Id suggest reinstalling the firmware.

Thats why I did not trust these auto root software build by some random dude. Rather did it manually myself and know whats happening. Its not rocket science after all.

Ok, managed to do a software update this morning & all seems to be working now. Phew!! No more rooting for me.

Last night I used unrevoked3 from my mac to root my desire. One click, no need for Goldcard, it was done in no time. Awesome software. It only has support for 5 phones though...
