Rockville, MD – March 2, 2006 – Bethesda Softworks® and 2K Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), today announced that the highly-anticipated role-playing game, The Elder Scrolls® IV: Oblivion™, has gone to gold master and will be available in stores in North America and Europe during the week of March 20. Oblivion will be available for Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PC in both regular and collector’s editions.

Anyone know any local stores that will have this ASAP close to release? :)
 
Never played an elder scroll game, any good ? Is the gameplay closer to Diablo or Buldurs Gate (of am I totally off) ? The adverts I've seen everywhere make the game look awesome, I just wanna know if it's any good.

will wait for reviews first as hype is way too big for a single-player game.

Oblivion features a groundbreaking new AI system, called Radiant AI, which gives non-player characters (NPCs) the ability to make their own choices based on the world around them. Oblivion is a single-player game that takes place in Tamriel's capital province, Cyrodiil. You are given the task of finding the hidden heir to a throne that sits empty, the previous emperor having been killed by an unknown assassin. With no true Emperor, the gates to Oblivion (the equivalent of hell in the world of Tamriel) open, and demons begin to invade Cyrodiil and attack its people and towns. It's up to you to find the lost heir to the throne and unravel the sinister plot that threatens to destroy all of Tamriel.

Not like Baldurs gate, not like Diablo.
Great info on it on official site and will be well worth playing if you love Rpg's

Been reviews from hands on fan sites and all been great.
Trailers are a great way to check it out
 
you cant rely on trailers for a final game perspective... its like movies, they only show the nice bits! ;)

how can you have reviews if game isnt even out yet? :rolleyes:
 
yip, but that would be a review from a fans perspective so its biased. ;)

i will wait, no hurry since there are other RPG's to be played for now as well.

i am not dissing Oblivion, but after their Morrowind fiasco with bugs i want a well ironed game and not a hyped blob with smilies covering up the bugs. :)
 
I did not like Morrowind :( Was nothing like TES for me :(

I am really hoping on Oblivion...Seems old school Daggerfall but modern
 
Previews are often more positive, since they assume any negatives will be fixed. Then when the game is released, they sometimes gets blasted, despite having had good previews. Having said that, I have been looking forward to Oblivion for a long time.
 
since the game is being co-developed with the X360 in mind a high-end SLI rig will give you a similar X360 performance... ouch.

Only thing it was knocked on was no Werewolves

I am glad it does not have the clunky Xbox UI for PC!

thinks it even cheaper at btgames.co.za R359 if i not mistaken

the demo that the ign guys played with had a machine spec as follows:
1900 ati series card
3.2 P4 processor
2 gig ram ...

and it ran smoothly ...

me wonders too as well ... cause i want to play it maxed out at 1280x1024 ... a 1900xt card ... i wonder if i would ... cause sli is only good for higher resoltuions. are they not people in this world that has this game already even though its going to be launched on the 20th march. i wonder
