Decisions taken on the Arrest and Prosecution of corrupt Cabinet Ministers and their departments will have implications for how taxpayers will allow their money to be spent.

If one ignores the whole collection cost factor for now, this is a big problem for the future. Why do you think Cosato was so dead against the e-Toll model? e-Toll was about pay for use, if that gets through then other infrastructure will be funded the same way. The only realistic alternative to this is treasury paying for it which comes out of the tax payers. From what I understand, we are already paying 56% of all taxes to grants, etc so there is no way that they can fund infrastructure with normal taxes without putting up the taxes. We already know that the ANC aren't going to clean up their act with corruption etc.

So what the whole e-toll situation means for the future is that we are now going to pay more taxes.

Please don't get me wrong, they certainly went overboard with their 2.6 billion of the 3.6 billion collected over the next 2 years going to toll collection. I also know that I would have only paid about R300 per month on e-tolls and I drive through quite a few gantries to and from work. I am more worried about the present and future increases in the petrol price because that is going to be a much bigger cost for me.

I am very worried because the ANC needs to put some serious money into infrastructure and I know where it is going to come from, us.
