Fallout 4 is already there and SW: Battlefront even though it isn't out yet?

What BS, this is more like the Hype Awards 2015.

Why wouldn't it already be there? The judges that nominated them will all have played it already or finished it already.

A panel of judges from 32 international publications, including Polygon, selected the nominees for The Game Awards 2015. Games had to have a commercial release date on or before Nov. 24, 2015, in order to be eligible for this year's awards, which excludes some big December titles such as Just Cause 3 and Rainbow Six Siege.

Unfortunate about those missing out, though.

Dunno why don't just hold it at the start of the following year to make sure everything from 2015 is actually included.

Don't see why it has to fall in a calendar year either. Golden joystick award is done end of october so anything from november the previous year is included.

Because it won't be the actual game. In many cases advance copies of games for press to review etc. are not finished/only include certain parts of the game/still in beta etc.

We don't even know if they finished them (especially a massive game like fallout). How did they judge the multiplayer aspects of Star Wars Battlefront when it isn't even out yet? Local servers? Hardly fair to the other shooters, did they judge it from the open beta? Not fair either.

There's too much we don't know about this process.

They should just wait until the games are properly released then put them in the running for the next year, like the Oscars. But like I said, the hype would have died down by then.

I bought fallout 4 on PS4 on Friday.

I still haven't opened it, seeing as I got the new Witcher 3 expansion. :o
