Care to elaborate? Not disagreeing but Carte Blanche seems to think otherwise.

Fear mongering?
You need only go into the North West, North Cape, Eastern Cape, FS, Limpopo, parts of MP and parts of WC to see how bad things are. We are exceptionally fortunate here in G that we get water piped from Lesotho. But for that, we would be on rations like they are in CPT.

My mum chews my ear off for having long showers, no matter how much i tell her that the vaal doesnt supply all of SA's water.

Someone is pushing their luck. Steal data from other websites and then pass it off as your own????
The Aviation link is just that, a link to SAWS aviation, which fails because the source data is down. Someone needs to report this bunch!!

And this is why I cannot fathom living in the Cape until they sort out their supply issues....
That poor planning drought still affecting them :whistling:

It is just symptomatic of all the misinformation and fear-mongering going around about just about everything to do with the weather, aggravated by the ACC bunch.
However, water "wastage" or rather overuse per person is and has always been an issue.
The problem with exaggeration about the situation in Gauteng is it does distort the position in the rest of the country which IS undergoing some very very serious drought conditions.

Taking another look at the Ottosdal Radar, the storms seem to be intensifying a little bit, and now moving North East - if they don't dissipate they may hit GP in a few hours (as in late tonight or early tomorrow morning)

I've still got my money on nothing significant happening

Yes is a bit too far South to be significant for GP. But The FS and Lesotho can do with the rain --- Lesotho has had a pretty poor rainy season for 2 years ---- those big dams we rely on are rather empty ----

Chances are improving for some rain tonight! Storms are now showing up on the Irene Radar, and Ottosdal is still showing strong returns with both stations showing storms moving towards Joburg and Pretoria

I'd say they're likely to hit us around Midnight, again, if they don't dissipate first
